We can certainly evaluate Boss based on the fact that he started 6 games last season.

Anyhow, I distinctly recall that just before he got injured, word got out that Shockey was being a prima donna and apparently refused to block anymore. Maybe this was Philly disinformation?

Never heard about Shockey refusing to block P'ha, but he felt he was being under-utilized in an offense that put more emphasis on his blocking.


What people forget about Shockey is that he couldn't block for shit when he first arrived and Coughlin is the one who made him a much better blocker. Furthemore, JereME has gotten called for numerous holding penalties every season bringing back big plays and he's notorious for dropping a catchable pass at a critical time.


To be fair though, Shockey hasn't gotten nearly the credit he deserves for his blocking ability but the Saints just acquired a TE who is a loudmouth asshole and doesn't like to block. That's like getting a safety who is only willing to make interceptions.


Yeah, JereME is a great talent but he's an awful, awful team player. Not to mention he's ALWAYS injured and has six seasons of NFL wear and tear on him and is coming off a broken leg.


Most importantly, it's no coincidence Eli played the best football of his career after Shockey went down. See, Eli didn't have to worry about forcing the ball to JereME anymore just to keep him happy and satisfy his massive ego. I can't tell you how many times Shockey showed him up on the field. Interesting that Eli only threw 2 INT's in his final 5 games facing some of the better defenses in the league.

According to some Giants fans on other boards, they're acting like trading Shockey is the end of the world. lololol
