Aggron's a total rip-off of Rhydon. Aggron FTL.
Milotic's gonna win only cuz it'd probably translate to a purty "furry" or whatevia. >_> <_< |

20. Rayquaza (Dragon/Flying) I have to say that Rayquaza was supremely awesome when it came time for the boss battle in Super Smash Brothers: Brawl. I actually liked that fight a lot because unlike pretty much every other game (including Collosseum and Gale of Darkness, I'm sure), we got to see Rayquaza really moving around like a Pokemon should, not just staying on one place the whole time. But as far as legendaries go, Rayquaza is just kind of a letdown. Dragon/Flying is nothing new, and in fact the game already had a Dragon/Flying-type in Salamence. Still, winged serpent of the skies is pretty cool, like the thirteenth boss in Shadow of the Colossus.
19. Shedinja (Ghost/Bug) Prior to Sapphire, I never really bothered with Shedinja, mainly because Nincada was just so difficult to train and it didn't seem worth it to try. But in Sapphire, I've grown to appreciate Shedinja quite a bit. Despite only having one HP, it makes up for this by basically only being weak to 3 or 4 attacks and immune to EVERYTHING else. It's also probably one of the most unique Ghost-types in the game. The method for obtaining it is rather unique too, and it's not difficult to do, making Shedinja something worth raising a Nincada to level 20 in order to get.
18. Latias (Dragon/Psychic) There's a small gap between Latios and Latias, even though they're essentially the same Pokemon. The main reason is that I just tend to prefer female Pokemon to males, and Latias, despite being genderless, is considered to be female. Latias just eminates femininity and seems to be much calmer and nicer than her brother, only based on facial expression. Plus Latias apparently was infatuated with Ash, as way too many Pokemon are, which is pretty funny in and of itself. She even turned herself human (or something like that) for Ash. Talk about creepy, huh?
17. Cacturne (Grass/Dark) Cacnea made its appearance in the previous update, so now it's time for its big brother to show up. Cacturne basically improves upon Cacnea in many ways. Despite gaining extra weaknesses from its Dark-typing, Cacturne has the same Sand Veil special abilty, making it harder to hit when a sandstorm kicks up. It's also got high attack, which is great, given the strength of its Needle Arm attack, especially under the new divisions of attack and special attack in DP. Overall, Cacturne is an extremely solid Grass Pokemon (certainly better than most of the Grass starters we've seen).
16. Kyogre (Water) Kyogre is a good legendary, but part of the reason I can't rank it any higher is because of what it represents. Too me, Kyogre is an example of what was wrong with RSE because it represents the sea and the fact that far too much of the map was covered with Water in the game. And when you release Kyogre in Sapphire, suddenly you have to deal with rain as well, which is a bitch when you get into battles while surfing and trying to get to dry land. Plus side, Kyogre is extremely easy to catch, mainly because you bring a Shedinja and Kyogre has absolutely no attacks that can hit it. And for a Water Pokemon, Kyogre's pretty fucking awesome, so it makes the top 16 (and eventually a 64 Pokemon tournament.) |

I can't wait to see the rankings for the fourth generation and who will be ranked dead last. There are so many choices. However, I recomend this:

15. Mudkip (Water) And just like the Treecko family before it, the Mudkip family is eliminated just after making it to the top fifteen. Honestly, although Mudkip is really cute, it's probably only more appealing, cuteness-wise, than Squirtle, and even then, it's a close call in terms of ranking the Water-starters. The main reason for the high ranking honestly has nothing to do with the game whatsoever. The high ranking comes solely because I find the "so i herd u liek mudkipz" fad. Lame, I know. But still, it's a funny fad because while it can be annoying as hell when you're dealing with an idiot, one or two mentions can be quite funny.
14. Spoink (Psychic) Yet another Pokemon that makes it high on the list due to just extreme cuteness, Spoink is just the cutest little springing pig creature of all time. I don't even really like pigs. I find them to be disgusting creatures and I even have a hard time eating pork. But Spoink is adorable. Its tail is a cute little spring and it has a cute little pig nose and a pearl on its head. Add in its combat ability which isn't half bad, and you have a great Pokemon on your hands.
13. Gardevoir (Psychic) Unlucky thirteen, but I think Gardevoir deserves it. Much like Pikachu before her, Gardevoir is the type of Pokemon that gets way too overhyped that it detracts from however good it really is. In RSE, Gardevoir was trumpeted as the second coming of Alakazam. While I did use one on my dream team (She was mainly saved for anything I couldn't handle in the final battle) Gardevoir is just another Psychic. She's good, but not great. The main reason she's left out of the top 10 is because she's basically the Pokemon that everyone claims is most fuckable. I know it's weird for me to say this, given some of the pictures I posted earlier, but it's how I feel. A furry is one thing, but Gardevoir is not a furry. Gardevoir is some bizarre alien creature that just happens to be somewhat humanoid. And this alone has made her the subject of more Pokeporn than anyone else, I think. It's gross.
12. Aggron (Steel/Rock) The fifth member of my dream team, as mentioned before, Aggron was easily the strongest Pokemon on my team, defense-wise. When it came to the elite 4, Aggron was basically just a great all-around Pokemon that I could use in any situation. And better yet, I love the big, strong, dinosaur Pokemon (like Tyranitar). I don't care that Aggron is a Rhydon clone. I don't really like Rhydon that much, while Aggron was my awesome triceratops. Overall, Aggron's great, but there's just other factors that keep him from the top 10. P.S. The picture has two of my dream team in it, OH MY GOD!
11. Breloom (Grass/Fighting) And now we come to the final Grass Pokemon in this particular countdown, and it's a good one. Breloom evolves from the uber-cute mushroom, Shroomish, and with that evolution, he removes a good deal of his Grass weaknesses, leaving only the double-weakness to Flying-types. Breloom is a great competitive battler with the combination of 100% accurate Spore and the second turn only Focus Punch. These things make Breloom and very deadly Pokemon to handle in battle. The reason he's left out of the top ten is simply due to appearance. But he made it damn close. |
