I am guessing that the other two kids are the sisters from the same "circumstances" Mom seemed a little non-plussed by the whole scenario. "Oh hi, you want dinner and to see your bastard child?" As for the elephant I am assuming since Elephants with trunks up mean good luck and good fortune.. in this case not so much. Daddy probably gave it to Mumsy as a gift and well there you go.

My speculation on this is that maybe Petey is the product of Mommie Dearest's having an affair with one of the "real" rich boys. It's obvious that Daddy was sponging off of Mommy's money and purposely left Pete out of the will. 2nd Speculation - The whole American Airlines deal that Duck is trying to swing will fall flat on its ass and Duck will find a way to blame Draper for it. Catholic Clarification - Peggy would not have been "able" to go to communion if she had not confessed her "sin". Mom and Sister know she is unrepentant and would have thrown a fit if she had stood up for communion. Can't wait to see how the little spat between Joan and Mr. Pretentious plays out - it's getting nasty.

She was exactly right, the only reason he was dating her was so he could look worldly and progressive to his friends. Same can be said for the ascot, pipe, and beard. He doesn't actually love her, he's just selfishly using her, at least thats the feeling I got. They are both childish characters, but he much more so by making her faults public to the whole office, as petty as Joan worrying about being 30 may be. Duck is a slimy jackass,and Pete has to know that he was using him, and I assume he doesn't care. Duck is what Pete can/will become if he doesn't get his act together. Betty just keeps getting colder and colder, and Don seems to have lost all of the power he seemed to have in Season 1. He's now a shell of his former self. He's getting beaten by Duck and having to play a game he doesn't like. I except Don to come back, but the question is when. Will it be too late? I don't even want to touch Peggy's storyline, because it's a time that I know nothing about, other than I think Peggy is a person who will do what she wants and will let nothing stand in her way. Even a child, she's certianlly not someone who let's a little pesky thing like religion or social norms bother her.

It shows you Joan's true "colors".. that said I like the character and the actresses' consistency... its spot on.

All of them were freaked out by the goddamn neighborhood.. and as someone who for the past few years lived in West Oakland and my liberal educated friends would not set foot there and I also live in a "mixed" hood now as well.. you should see the reaction when no one is shot up... just Saturday a friend who is Indian goes are there any dark people other than me here.... yes but they can't afford to eat where we are darling.. there is still segregation and isolation. I have a black friend who said Shit.. that hood you live in is fucked up... no its white as a sheet.. whoops.. bad analogy!!!! The hood I USED to live in, shit they could have filmed the Wire there. I like Urban hoods.. Sorry, but Joan was RUDE and racist along with the rest. Even Mr. Pretentious was racist.. but then hell Don was dabbling with Bohemia.. all white suburban people want to get downtown every now and then... straights are the new gays not marrying, etc and gays are the new straights all marrying with kiddies.. we all dabble in the "dark side"..

I was so pumped for last week only to be let down, but this week has restored my faith tenfold. Everyone's character has changed this year, but every change is in accordance with the logical progression/degression of previously-established traits. Fucking brilliant arc-ing. Joan WAS hot calling out Mr. "Imbibe" - hubba. Peggy is fairly hot this year, but was not pre-preggo last year - it's all in the attitude, ladies! Betty is still smokin'-purdy, even if she has that ass that's flat even by blue-state standards. I wonder who those other kids at Peggy's mom's house were? They weren't at church - heathens, perhaps? I would hope that they were NOT Peggy's - wouldn't fit with the character. I can see Don falling even deeper into the comfort of alcohol - the world is spinning at a faster pace now, and he's not prepared for it. And it's interesting that it's two episodes in, and he still hasn't cheated yet again. But I surmise that the package he sent off at the end of the first episode was for the Jewish lass. Pete Campbell just grew up, methinks. With no-one to psychologically castrate him any longer, he's gonna find his wings, I hope, and become the sympathetic villain I've always wanted him to be. I love you, Matthew. Not in a gay way.

She just thought she was getting fat, as did everyone else. I found that to be a major stretch to begin with, but if she had ever been pregnant before and thus able to recognize all the signs clearly, that arc would have been beyond ridiculous. So yeah, I don't think there's any way the other kids are hers.

I like how he wanted to also go to Peggy at first before going to Don who unfortunately rejected him... but there is a sadness now that makes him more interesting. As for Duck well christ live to that name.. Duck when that guy comes in OILY should be his name.. he used some kid's grief to snag a client.. WAY TO GO!!! Roger of course has amazing one liners we are totally overlooking.. there is a shark if ever.. many after that heart attack would be changing their tune.. Roger no.. GOD I LOVE THAT MAN! He will go out fucking and drinking... my role model.

I read an interview with the creator and he was asked how Peggy couldn't have any idea she was pregnant, and his answer was that Peggy was a smart girl. I got the impression that he meant she knew, but was in denial.

I'm going to stick with the idea that the baby ended up with the family due to Peggy being temporarily institutionalized. She wasn't given the opportunity to put her baby up for adoption, as she was not legally capable of making such a decision. The family stepped in and took the baby... acting as Peggy's legal guardian.
