Thoughts on the new batch:
Analeigh - Nice look, could go early though. Might fall into the too sexy look. Brittany - I think she'll have a lot of potential, and will make it halfway, at least. Clark - I don't think she knows how to model based on the picture. Elina - Best look of the bunch, for sure my pre-show fave, and she could have an accent. <33 Hannah - Different look, she could go far, or she could lose out early. Isis - I remember her from last season, and anyone with a past cycle link (Tiffaweave, Saleisha, Marvita) will surpass the first few elims. Joslyn - Eh, I don't see much, but there aren't many black girls this season. Lauren - She's pretty damn sexy. She reminds me a bit of Sara cycle 6. Marjorie - French girl? Named Marjorie? My gut says she'll last a bit, but I won't like her. McKey - She could be very entertaining, maybe a Jael-type. Nikeysha - Ew at spelling and at horrid haircut. I'll have to see with her. Samantha - Looks like Catie cycle 6, but she seems pretty good. ShaRaun - Our token bitch? Maybe not, but I like her. Sheena - K, congrats, she won. But I do like our first Asian since Gina. -_- Well the cast looks interesting, I won't say promising yet, but we'll see. |

Eww, Clark is hideous in full profile. In the promo photo she kind of looked like Baby Spice, but here she looks like Kyra Sedgwick's thicker sister.

I first saw Isis in a MSNBC documentary -- "Born in the Wrong Body: On The Edge". It's a multi-part series and I guess you could say Over the
Edge is the "black" entry. Meaning it features mostly trans people of color and focuses a lot on the urban/drag ballroom culture. It's like
"Paris is Burning" for dummies. She seemed to live a fairly "normal" life for the
most part. The other girls didn't fair too well from what I witnessed. One trans gal named Deasja was pumped full of bootleg silicone in her tits, thighs,
ass, and cheekbones -- she looked liked Madame by way of 2 Live Crew. Besides Isis and Deasja -- the only other trans I remember was some poor homeless soul
who turned tricks in between pointing out her Mary J. Blige eyes and Jennifer Hudson lips (his/her words).
Isis Tsunami is of course a part of the House of Tsunami in NYC. She's in a few videos featured on that Myspace page. Some people really were born in the wrong body -- I think Isis is proof of that. Except in this case it's the right body with the wrong genitalia. And can I just say -- there isn't anything more tacky than getting out a camcorder and recording your TV screen because you don't own a video capture card. You can buy those nowadays for like 30 bucks. Hell, steal one at least. I just get tired of hearing people's grandma's coughing in the background...or seeing the reflection of the person recording the TV in the TV screen. |
