Thank you guatemala fanfic for posting that! I really enjoyed reading it since I haven't seen all of the episodes (though I'll hopefully finish all of the ones that are up before the finale...). I thought I'd tell you (briefly) what I thought about the first four episodes, since I've finished reading those.
Glad you enjoyed the recap! :)
Dave boot episode: I thought it was an okay episode...about a 7 (which is still good). I think the rest of the season (besides episode two) is much better. But I know that with all of the character development, it is necessary to have some of these types of episodes. Since I've read your China fanfic, I could appreciate the Dave/Sherea conflict. Very happy Dave went home before Sherea! :)There always seems to be something with the first two episodes not being seen as being as good. I personally think that part of it has to do with the fact that there's more character/survival scenes and less strategy. People seem to like a like a lot of strategy, which is partially why ones like Episode 3 get rated really high. I still think this is probably my best premiere (or my favorite one, at least), and I'm glad that you were happy Dave left over Sherea.
Chet boot episode: Another 7...I liked it, but not my favorite. Again, I understand with all of the character development. Very happy Chet went home. :)
I do understands the criticisms of this episode, although there were some things I liked about it.
Erik boot episode: 9! I loved it. I like how close Jason, Tracy, and Kathy are...especially how that wasn't true in the real show. I thought the voting was awesome! I'm glad I actually saw something out of Ruth Marie this episode, I really like (what I've seen) of her. Sad Erik went home...but a overall wonderful episode! Thanks. I'm glad you liked this one better, and I agree that it was interesting to see T/K/J in an alliance, especially since Kathy really hates Jason. I enjoyed the voting strategies and the Tribal Council here too.
Natalie boot episode: 8. Bit sad to see the Airai tribe keep on losing... I also enjoyed the blindside, and I liked how you edited Natalie. I really enjoyed reading this episode! :)
This is another one of my favorite episodes of the season. I really liked the way Natalie's boot came about and I also enjoyed writing for her in the episodes she was in. Glad you liked this episode too!
PS: I like Mary a lot more now...I feel sorry for hating her so much before...
Yeah, she's started off almost in a positive light and I liked her a lot early on too, but then by the merge, I've really been rooting against her, and that's the feeling that readers are supposed to have as well.
Earl boot episode: I liked how you mixed up the tribes. It kindof confused me at first, but then I got it. I would've been completely floored by the blindside had I not skimmed the episodes earlier to try to catch up with this season to comment. Greatly written, as usual! I'll give it a 9...Thanks for the comment about liking how the tribes were switched. I'm really tired of pick'ems so I'm trying to always use different ideas. Too bad about the blindside not being shocking for you, but good to see that this one would have been a 9.
Ruth Marie and Ami boot episode: Wow...two good votes...I thought Airai's tribal council was good, but so was Malakal's. Double boot episodes aren't my favorite, but this one wasn't too bad. I like both Ruth Marie and Ami, and so it was hard for me to see them go. 8 for this episode (still really good)! :)This was another one of my favorite episodes of the season, but I think most people didn't enjoy this one *quite* as much as I did. I enjoyed both Tribal Councils, both votes, the strategy, the challenge, so I thought this was a great episode overall.
Terry boot episode: Yes! You know how much I love Eliza, so I was pulling for her the whole time. They obviously made the correct decision. I thought it was great when you foreshadowed Joel getting taken out when you said something along the lines of "Joel closely missing cutting his hand while opening a coconut," or something along those lines in the grey text. I was sorry to see Airai keep on losing though... 9 for this episode! This was the episode that took me forever to write (and Episode 13 and the finale sortof turned into that as well), but I liked the idea of the Terry/Eliza showdown. Great of you to pick up on the gray text line of Joel almost cutting his hand. That was definitely a moment of foreshadowing...
Again, I'm really excited for the finale... It's actually a rival for the number one spot with your China fanfic for me...which I find surprising. I thought nothing could beat that one! But we'll see... :)
Thanks! It's nice to hear that this season could rival China. For me, I don't think it catches it, but I obviously enjoy both stories and there are things that I really like about both of them a lot. Thanks for reading and always sharing positive comments. I really appreciate it! :)
