I guess it's really just a matter of what you look for in an Olympian or an athlete - versatility, consistency, longevity, etc. I personally find everyone
in these games impressive, even the Canadians. I certainly couldn't do any of it.

They have won every olympic match without ever dropping a set. They are also likely going to be the first team to ever defend the gold medal. I watch them play every Sunday on NBC. There are actually a lot of teams up to their standard it's just that they ALWAYS win the long rallies and perform the best under pressure. |

One could argue that Carl Lewis was the greatest ever because he competed in multiple disciplines and won golds in 4 different olympics I'd give that a big red ecks, but I'm color blind and with my luck it'd be brown. Lewis has a dislikeable personality, but he was the fastest man on earth for an incredibly long period of time, far longer than anyone before or since. |

Fuck! This U.S. rifle guy had a HUGE lead and was ahead every round going into the final shot and then totally fucked up in the final round to wind up out of

NBC has been more than ridiculous in their Phelps coverage. I actually think the most offensive part of it was acting like his teammates' sole reason to
excel in the relays was to make sure his 8 for 8 hopes stayed alive, far more offensive than the "greatest Olympian ever" moniker IMO. Still
doesn't warrant the dumb shit that I'm reading from certain posters (granted, no one's ever needed a reason to write dumb shit in OT, but still).
