70. Yanmega (Bug/Flying)

This is yet another of the new evolutions from DP of a Pokemon I never really cared for to begin with. Honestly, GSC and DP have always been the two generations where I just didn't care enough to go out and "Catch 'Em All", and Yanma/Yanmega just fall way outside of my range of caring. It's fast, I'll admit that, and it's supposedly better than Ninjask, but I just have no first-hand experience and I consider Yanmega to be boring.


69. Mesprit (Psychic)

Yet ANOTHER legendary Pokemon makes the list, and at this point, I have to wonder why the hell they put so many in, especially with so little effort going into their creation. Mesprit, like the others of the legendary trio, is just a weak Mew wannabe. Uxie is the tank and Azelf is the juggernaut, which means Mesprit is just a middle-of-the-road, boring Pokemon, nothing special.


68. Hippopotas (Ground)

While I appreciate the effort going into the creation of a monotype Ground Pokemon, but Hippopotas is just creepy and weird looking as far as hippos go. Catching him is a chore due to the placement of his hideout and his rarity, and in the end, I just thought he was a stupid attempt at being cartoony. Hippopotas is slow and slow is bad given how many weaknesses Ground has as a typing.


67. Buizel (Water)

I'll admit that Buizel is a cute design, even if it is another of the already too many Water Pokemon in the game. He's also pretty damn fast and capable in battle, even though at early levels, he doesn't have many attacks that utilize his Water-typing. One of the biggest problems is that Buizel has one of the most blindingly hideous color-schemes in the game with bright orange and bright yellow, and that just doesn't work for me.


66. Pachirisu (Electric)

As far as Pikachu ripoffs go, I'll at least give Pachirisu credit for going beyond what Plusle and Minun did in RSE by making themselves almost EXACT ripoffs. Sure, Pachirisu is an electric rodent, but he's designed like a squirrel and he's blue. Other than that, he pretty much IS a Pikachu clone, and it's only a matter of time until he makes it into Super Smash Brothers.


65. Bastiodon (Steel/Rock)

I typically don't care for fossils and I don't care for tanks either, and Bastiodon fills both of those categories. As a result, I never really bothered with it, probably because I got Diamond instead of Pearl. Honestly, Steel gets paired up with Rock far too often for my tastes, and as a result, it turns even the best tanks into weaklings against Fighting and Ground.


64. Probopass (Rock)

Sometimes, I have to wonder why they make the decisions to evolve certain Pokemon that really have no business being evolved. I mean there are some that are extremely close to being useful and an evolution helped them out, but Nosepass isn't one of those. Nosepass was weak and slow and nowhere near good enough to evolve. Probopass is funny looking though, so I guess that's something.


63. Toxicroak (Poison/Fighting)

The first thing that Toxicroak improves upon from Croagunk is the fact that Toxicroak doesn't look retarded, or like a stoner. And additionally, the name is infinitely cooler than Croagunk. Still, it's just another Pokemon I never really bothered with because of poor typing, but I will admit it's a decently strong Pokemon.


62. Togekiss (Normal/Flying)

Did I miss something back in GSC? I mean, Togepi was awesome in the anime and was improved upon in its evolution. Does it REALLY need another evolution for seemingly no reason? Don't get me wrong, Togekiss is supposedly great, but come on, this is the sort of thing that makes me wonder if the designers were even trying when they were trying to create new Pokemon for the DP generation.


61. Heatran (Fire/Steel)

Fire/Steel is a unique typing, but Heatran is yet another of the far too many legendary Pokemon added in this generation. It's also one of only three new Fire-types, and is disappointing by comparison to the Fire-types from previous generations. Also, they decided to give Heatran a gender for some reason, despite making it incapable of mating, which just boggles the mind. Honestly, what is the point of that?

60. Weavile (Dark/Ice)

Now we've got another of the influx of new evolutions in this set of Pokemon. While not a bad idea in concept or execution, Weavile just doesn't do anything for me. I mean, I didn't particularly care for Sneasel, and Weavile just doesn't seem all that necessary. It's just kinda hard for me to rank these new evolutions high because of how annoying it can be to evolve them. In Weavile's case, I think he needs to learn a specific move as Sneasel and then reach a certain level. It's just awkward and annoying.


59. Snover (Ice/Grass)

Snover is much much cuter than Abomasnow, which is pretty much the only reason I'm willing to rank Snover higher than his evolved form. He has all the same problems, with a high probability of being owned by Bugs, Fire, Rocks, Fighting, Poison, and probably more. He should be thankful he made it THIS high with such a crappy typing, but I'll be damned if Snover isn't one of the cutest Ice-types ever.


58. Froslass (Ice/Ghost)

Another lame Ghost-type that I'll give credit for trying to be unquie by mixing it with Ice. Froslass is a female-only evolution, which means horrendous porn was to follow. It's not even that good of a typing, and it just pumps another unnecessary evolution into an already oversaturated generation.


57. Happiny (Normal)

Another baby Pokemon on this list, and I'd have to say that Happiny is just too much. I mean, Chansey was a tank in RBY. Then Blissey became the uber-special tank in GSC. Did we really need Happiny to be made as a baby Pokemon? What could Happiny possibly offer in terms of new moves? Absolutely nothing. It just happens to be one of the cuter baby Pokemon, which gets it relatively high, given the crap in this generation.


56. Bronzor (Steel/Psychic)

I dislike Bronzong, and I dislike Bronzor equally. The Steel/Psychic-typing makes Bronzor great for tanking, and thus annoying to compete against, but as a tank, that makes it annoying to try and level up because even if it can take a hit, it can't dish them out, which means training one up will take WAY too long to be worth it.


55. Drapion (Dark/Poison)

I like this typing, because it basically eliminated a whole bunch of weaknesses, leaving only Ground to harm Drapion. Now granted, Earthuake is one of the biggest attacks in the competitive game, but I've gotta give Drapion credit at least. I just don't like scorpions at all. Scorpions are like spiders in my eyes. Too many arms and just way too damn creepy.


54. Lickilicky (Normal)

Pretty much the only reason Lickilicky is ranked as high as she is, is because of how comical the name is. It's like they didn't even try to make a serious name for this ugly thing. LickiLICKY. It's funny. Now granted, it sucks just like Lickitung sucks, but still, it's a funny name.


53. Floatzel (Water)

Again, Floatzel would probably make a really good furry, but it's just not that important to me in this generation. I mean, you've gotta be REALLY special by this point to be a Water Pokemon and impress me, and Floatzel is basically the definition of average. Hell, he's more deserving of a Normal/Water-typing than Bibarel is, not doubt. Also, the yellow and orange are just as ugly here as they are in Buizel.


52. Shinx (Electric)

The first of the three members of the Shinx family comes in just outside the top 50. Overall, I like the idea of a cute, yet dark-looking Electric type, but I really think that they should've been Electric/Dark, because they have this high attack power, but no moves that utilize it. Shinx ranks the lowest because I don't really like lion cubs. Seriously, screw Simba and Nala, they suck.


51. Munchlax (Normal)

And with Munchlax's appearance, we're down to just one baby Pokemon left on the list. I like Snorlax, I really do. I like the gimmick of how Snorlax was so big that he blocked routes off and messed with you in general. Plus, he was really strong to begin with, a great all-around Pokemon. So I understand what they were TRYING to do with Munchlax. They were trying to capitalize on the popularity of Snorlax by making a cute baby, but babies aren't cute. Even human babies are hideous as hell. Munchlax was just a failed attempt as awesome that was annoying as hell to catch due to the honey method.
