Too bad it's the last day, I will miss the Olympics. I guess the Winter Olympics are coming, but those kind of suck.

I love that Aussie diver, he was so cute when he won! Apparently some people are up in arms because NBC didn't mention that he was gay on their broadcast.
Overall, my score for NBC's Olympic coverage: F+ |

I totally watched the men's marathon last night, it was fantastic! For the most part of the race it was a 5 way nail biter. Then the Kenyan comes running
in and not only does he win gold but he makes an Olympic record. I think the Moroccon also made an Olympic record. I feel bad for the Ethipoian who came in
fourth. He looked like he was in real pain and his face really showed it.

NBC made it a point to showcase the other gold medal winner's families from allied countries who were there. For Mitcham, he was basically edited as an orphan. |

I don't recall them mentioning it on CBC either (which actually is even more useless imho), though I could be wrong. But it was definitely also worth
mentioning as he was the ONLY openly gay male athlete at these Olympics, which is pretty damn significant. Only ten in total, pretty shocking. I loved him!

Was watching CBC this morning and now NBC....besides NBC having better camera shots...it's been very bad...edited out tones of stuff!!! And just way, way, way too many commercials... Thank God for CBC!!

Sorry but watching the closing ceremonies, the commentators on NBC have been far more knowledgeable than the CBC ones about the athletes that were popping up
in the shots, even ones from other countries, which is pretty much true of most of the coverage (although there are definitely a lot of douchey commentators on
NBC). Throughout there were too many examples of CBC flatout ignoring non-Canadian athletes to mention, worse than the NBC a lot of the time, but yeah,
it's over *phew.*
Frankly I'm so tired of hearing how fantastic CBC coverage is (and the inevitable corrolary of how horrible NBC is) when there were definitely a lot of things about it that were infuriating. I'm just glad Brian Williams is finally gone. |

I feel sorry for London following Beigiing, they will never be able to top the opening and closing ceremonies. That little double decker bus presentation with
Leona Lewis singing Led Zeplin was lame as hell.

I don't think that there will be anyone topping the $100 million dollar opening ceremonies. It is Vancouver next up and there is no way we will have
anything close to that spectacle. The closing ceremonies has been interesting, but nothing compared to the opening.

Awesome that Michael Phelps is there in London. Says he'll be back to compete.

Yup cool that Phelps showed up in London....
And immediately sucked the air out of the event. That BBC guy was working way too hard. This does not bode well. Still, for once, a mishap in this Olympiad wasn't the fault of NBC or the Commies, but the BBC. |

And of course, the Olympics end with a picture of NBC's little golden boy Michael Phelps, perched atop the podium. Nothing against him, but why does NBC
have to put him on such a huge pedestal? And then when you dare to say anything about how annoying NBC is about it, everyone gets all mad at you, like Michael
Phelps somehow became Jesus by winning some gold medals.
Seriously, it's like you can't dare to complain about the Phelps overkill. |
