Anyone who's calling my boss should know that you can bypass his greeting by pressing 1, the way it should be. Any system that requires you to press # or 9 or 3 to bypass the greeting needs to be replaced.

Voice mail greeting bypass # or 1? Mandate needed!!! |

For the love of god, we can land a man on the moon, create a remote control that works an entire entertainment center, and put electronic maps in our cars, but
why on earth can't we standardize voice mail systems that pressing 1 bypasses the god damned boring assed greeting and lets me leave a message?

1 makes no sense. I wisely use a # system.

Made me fucking crazy. I'd call and expect to get her voicemail and nothing. Eventually she called and I asked "wtf?" She 'splained. Back to you in the studio... |

# should be used to reach a different mailbox.
* should be used if it's your mailbox and you want to enter a password to access the mailbox. |

heh! The correct course of action is to never leave a message. Always hang up as soon as you get the voice mail message. It gives a vibe that you don't
give a shit about the person on the other side. Works like a charm

That's not a very efficient way of getting people to do your bidding.

The only real answer is to form a federal bureaucracy funded by tax-payer dollars to the tune of $25 billion to regulate voice-mail. On second thought, do as I do and bypass the message by pressing 5. It's right in the middle of the keypad and it is the default for MY work voice-mail system. |

I'll gladly support reallocating my tax dollars that are earmarked for welfare to solve this problem that plagues people who actually work for a living. |
