EPMB pushed back the opener to the 25th, and with a two-hour double ep.
This is not getting off to a good start.

I dunno, but that's my fear.
Who knows, maybe the Survivor editing corps can expand the original one hour opener to two. Whatever else sucks about Survivor, they're the class of the RTV universe. If anyone can execute such an expansion on short notice, it's them. Now that I think about it, maybe this isn't such a bad idea. An argument could be made that this is a pissed awf CBS counterpunching Fox. |

Hopefully they just make it the premiere stretched out to two hours, rather than two episodes smashed together.

I am willing to bet it is a double boot.
That way it wont stretch out an extra week into December. |

This sucks.
Also - is it true? I mean, CBS has been advertising the shit out of Gabon since the end of May. Would they really piss off "new" viewers by changing the premiere? |

The CBS site (which we all know is good for jackshit) still says "Survivor: Gabon Premieres Thursday, September 18th, 8:00pm et/pt"

That's really bizzare, because their site is usually up to date and accurate.

Unless they're giving the editors some extra time to stretch the premiere (first boot) out to two hours, I really don't see why they would push things
back since that would screw up with the finale and everything. I'd be shocked if this wasn't just the first two episodes shown back to back. Although
do they really want to push CSI out of premiere week?
Either way, it sounds pretty cool. To be honest, I haven't been all that hyped up for the Gabon premiere but the idea of two full hours to kick off the season actually sounds pretty awesome. And I'm guessing that a lot of viewers are gonna feel the same way. Let's face it, nowadays when a new season comes up, it's just like, "Ok, cool, new Survivor starts tonight." This could actually score some hype for once, especially if both hours really deliver. |

That's the thing, because if it is a good season, the two hours will be great. But if it is a snoozefest the two hours will be agonizing. This may help or
hurt because casual viewers won't like it if they are bored for two hours. But if those two hours are spectacular they may stick around for the whole
season.

I can definitely see it being one big episode. Just think of it!
1. Big opening twist - a Survivor staple since Thailand 2. Reward challenge - on and off since Guatemala 3. Immunity challenge 4. Tribal Council Lots of random crap thrown in - maybe an Exile Island (*puke*), etc. |
