They need to decide within a few weeks what they want to show for an hour's worth of television time, how they would cut it to tell the story of Gabon better, find the camp clips, find the appropriate confessional sound bites, put them together, cut them down, add in the music, mix in the sound, etc.
Yeah, I don't think there is an editing team in television that would be able to logically do this in a few weeks while still working on future episodes, especially when they can just show the first two episodes back to back, which is what they are doing.
