I think it's really funny that Marcus' (one of my favorite Survivors ever) favorite winner is Yul, my most hated Survivor ever. Too funny!

Yeah, but he also got the first promo of the season all to himself, Jeff has been talking him up in all the interviews, and he got a ridiculously long close-up and a bland, winner-esque confessional right after Jeff said "only one will remain to claim the million dollar prize." Like I said before, now all we need are some epic helicopter shots. |

10 minutes+ of interviews is equal to probably 3+ episodes of airtime. Plus, it's 100% focused on each individual, so that's how my opinions formed
pre-season usually stick. I get a good read on the character of someone, and they don't drastically change.

There have been many seasons, if not all, where the first person given a confessional did not end up being the winner. I just wish they went back to what they did in China, where Jeff introduced ALL the castways. It was fast, quick and didn't give any special treatment to certain castaways. Also, I wish they would intensify the background music when Jeff says "39 days, 18 ppl, 1 survivor" because it was so mellow in the preview that we saw. And also when they show Crystal, GC, Bob, etc. Those confessionals look like some extra videos we would find on CBS.com. It just moved from one castaway to the next without any good transition. In Micronesia, when they introduced some of the faves, there was this cool background music. And I really, really wish they introduce all the castways.... |
