Laurie I am sorry to hear about your dog. I know it's tough to lose a dog, but i also know they go to doggie heaven in the end.

He had a great life and we feel fortunate to have had him for the 10 years we did. He changed our lives and he is the reason I am committed to the kind of
relationship based training that I now do.

We had his 10th birthday party on August 9 and he was so happy and vibrant. I'd like everyone to remember him that way, so no memorial service. But I
have a nice memorial on my web page and will be doing memorials in several dog training publications. Mostly I'm just going to honor the memory of what a
truly great dog. Yes, the greatest.

It's such a short time we have with our pets
They can all play together on Rainbow Bridge, until we get there. Yes. I really think Andrew and Laurie for the win. Unless there is some really biased challenge. I still laugh at Andrew and the elephant! |

My dog encountered our neighbors horse on the road the other night, all I could think of was Presley and Andrew with the elephant - my reality was him running
around it barking and shaking like a leaf ---pretty sure it was out of fear and not excitement.....
Laurie - I understand Andrew's connection to you, my pup is with me ALL.THE.TIME unless I'm at work - he may go out on his own for about 10 minutes but that's the max. |

Well Andrew knows what horses are, so he probably wouldn't have sat for a horse, or a large dog. But he honestly didn't know what the elephant was,
and once I told him to stay and he'd be fine, he believed me!
Toy breeds, being that they were bred to be companion/lap dogs, are generally very attached and connected to their owners. Many are "one person"dogs, but Andrew isn't. He loves my husband equally, if not more than me. It cracked me up when Wendy Diamond asked what would happen to Andrew if I died. First of all, ummmmm, thanks for the lovely thought! But secondly, I do have a family and very extensive support system. Andrew would be fine as he would have plenty of caretakers. They acted like he and I live on some isolated island together just the two of us. Totally ridiculous. |

She ended up having to give her to my gramma, so she didn't have to leave the family. |
