There's a torrent site called eztv.it that will let you stream the episode once the torrent is uploaded. It's not up yet though. Also, I have not tried their streaming feature yet, so I can't really offer any insight into its efficiency. |

I was getting so embarrassed for the mentally challenged obese woman on the panel, that I honest-to-God had to turn it off. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Well appropriately this show had on Alec Baldwin one of the most vociferous liberal actors in the last decade along with Christiane Armanpour, the woman Lara
Logan owes her career and well Gary Shandling.
Today was a TSUNAMI.... we are drowning.. in debt, in war, in disgrace and in shame. We have a political system that is decayed and no longer serves the people it was created to do. To add that additional pork as a bribe is the most disgusting thing I have witnessed in the last few years and that includes my bloated ex huband naked. Ironically the energy tax credits were buried in that bill but who could find it with the Indian toy arrows... maybe we could use them to kill our Congress. This following the most absurd debate I have witnessed since Kennedy Nixon.. and yes I was there.. Watching the local school marm/barfly whore wink and give shout outs like a sixth grader misquote and call herself a "maverick" makes me appreciate the French even more They get that America is a bumbling Barney with absoultely no clue on how to behave or handle their grand size just stumbling and bumbling and pushing their might without any substance behind it. This now firmly establishes America's decline in the world and for that perhaps that may be a good thing. We are no longer a strong nation and we cannot be regardless of who becomes President. Our deficit, our budget issues, trade issues and more importantly bloated ill educated Political morons leading our nation how can be? We are the Titanic without even a decent Captain willing to go down with the ship. Neither Obama or McCain are intelligent, distant and well experienced enough to even fathom what is happened and they are not the ones to lead us from this quagmire... we have NO ONE people and we will have to make the best decision to find someone willing to listen to others counsel that are not of the mainstream or the old guard. Nader is insane but he was right last week... To be smart one has to listen, process and make decisions.. not be popular. I often find myself at odds with colleagues and yet when I find myself on my island I am amazed at how many times later I hear how I was right and that being an "outsider" I give the perspective that needs to be heard despite the fact that its both tough and honest. And that is why I could never be elected to office... that my "history" would be the equivalent of a rose bowl parade of freaks and geeks.... But we are in a place where if we collectively unite and agree that the bastards in this picture are our Elected Officials.. not just one party, not just one man/woman but ALL OF THEM... these problems are not the provenance of the Republicans but also of Democrats.. and even Alec Baldwin pointed that out.. Barney Frank so rallying against this bailout is ironic as he was behind some of the issues that brought us there.. he has always been a blowhard.. well he is gay and that blowing is natural.. but he is past his prime....and there are others.. are there good ones.. yes but they all need to be pushed to the curb.. if you fucked up on your job, bankrupted your company you would be on your ass and on the street, finding a job and getting your life in order would be an uphill battle... I suggest we show the Congress what that is like.. This issues with the banks will not be resolved.. it will be 'fixed' but not for long... this is the S&L crisis all over again... John McCain may well understand this better than we thought... As for the rest of the bill.. its junk like the mortgages they wrote.... and now we will have just three or 4 banks running this country and they will be massively huge and more powerful and as a result more risk that will happen again.. I just won't be alive to worry about it.. We have lost airlines and we there will be more.. say goodbye to one car company.. say goodbye to many institutions so add Government to the list.. let's rescue America from these fucknuts who are not talented, smart or committed to saving our country... let them join the 195,000 who joined the ranks of the unemployed in this country. And on that note.. support you small business person.. seek them out... support your local store... your local bank... your community.. build through innovation, respond through rage and let us be Europe/Canada.. it works for them it can for us. |

Haven't seen the show tonight yet, but I just wanted to pop in and say great post Glams. You are right. Sigh. As
for the show. I love Christiane Armanpour and could listen to her talk all day. Brilliant woman. Now why the hell couldn't someone like that have
debated Biden last night? (yes I'm kidding - sort of).

Gary Shandling's line about Charro was easily the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life.
ETA: So, I just finished. Good episode. Baldwin is surprisingly smart. C.A. (not even going to try) is surprisingly uninteresting (generally love her and her insight) and Gary Shandling is surprisingly funny (never much cared for him before). And what the hell is Woodward's secret? Is it that we are paying the insurgents not to shoot at us? Everyone already knows that's why violence is down.

The way Amanpour was gushing about Palin was pretty gross. It would be one thing if Palin actually had a brain, but it is beyond obvious that she was chosen
for her looks, her misogynisitic Christian patriarchal extremism and to be Cheney/Rove's (and Todd's) puppet. I don't see how having a bimbo like
that in a position of power does anything positive for women and their place in this world. Amanpour sounded like a fool.
Baldwin is great. I love him. Shandling was better than usual, he made some good points. Overall, I thought it was a good show. |

This was a good ep. Bob Woodward is always interesting and the panel was excellent with the exception of Christine's support of Palin because she's a
woman. Gary Shandling's Charro comment was priceless and exactly the right comparison.
Alec Baldwin is a smart cookie. |

While I plan on voting McCain in the upcoming election and am a registered Republican, I thought Alec Baldwin had a lot of solid points last night, and I found
myself nodding my head a lot to what he said. He's definitely a really intelligent actor, which is hard to come across. He should consider a career in
politics when 30 Rock fades away.

Last night's show was a good one, I really enjoy Alec Baldwin, and I really enjoy him getting to comeback loud and proud with his "I told you so"
attitude after he was so villified in '04 for being, God forbid, a Kerry supporter.
I also thought Gary shandling made some good, and funny, points. I have to agree with him saying it looks like we're trying to get Bin Laden by making him laugh to death. We are in an epic crisis, something I'm not sure we can bounce back from, but at least I'm having a few good laughs on the way down. On one hand I feel really smug right about now back when I was one of the unpopular minority who said Bush would ruin this country. On the other hand, I've never felt so miserable about being right in my life. I'm very angry that we are falling apart at the seams because the American people are too fucking stupid to do anything in their best interest, and insist on being sold a big fat fucking bridge to nowhere so long as it's packaged in an appealing way. And I might be harsh here, but any one of those 195,000 that lost their job and voted for Bush, fuck them, they got exactly what they voted for. |

I also would like to discuss Christiane's "support" of Palin.. I understood why.. she was making a point that once again Republicans threw shit
at Democrats and the Democrats ran away... we had a fantastic opportunity to really throw a ringer in the world if we had an Obama/Clinton ticket... now
regardless of whose name is first just look at it for one moment.. the black dude and the chick... she has bigger balls and he has a big dick.... she has
"experience" he has charm... its Guess Whose Coming to Dinner White House style... now I don't like either of them frankly but in this world at
this time its time... we had no one else and Obama blew it.. had this crisis happened 4 months ago we would have had a very different debate on Tuesday...
because it would be with very different candidates I believe. Partisan politics, ego blown politics must END. And this proves it... but Palin was a slap in
Democrat's face and it worked.. they picked the most unsuitable moron, Dan Quayle in a skirt, and threw her out there with the MILF winking, the coffee
shop persona and the tard baby... god help us but that poor child its just all a mess and what a fucking distraction.. talk about the new dirty politics.. Karl
Rove wishes he thought of it.
As for Palin she has thrown the women's movement back to well I fucking have no clue.. our economy is in the depression which was ironically when women got the vote so perfect! Christiane needs to recall that fuck even batshit crazy Pakistan had a woman and then they killed her.. so maybe not as a good example as you think and Margaret Thatcher has Reagan disease.. ironic or coincidence.. who knows... maybe every fucking right wing kook of the 80s will develop Alzhiemers.. Now we had a chance to repair some of this shit numerous times... Bill Clinton cannot be absolved from this but he is alive and kicking and this was his chance to repair some of it.. as for Rubin the fucknut who started foreign bailouts.. cut that shitbag out of the loop.. let's in fact lose every single one of the "advisors" from prior administrations and find fresh young minds.. let every single one of the Congress and Senate lose their elections on principal.. .that simple.... they fucked it up too... they need to go and they can come back when they apply for their jobs with fresh ideas and real commitment to change... fuck them they need to go!!! We have a shitload of power here.. I wrote every single Congress person in Washington state with the promise I would see to their ouster in office if they voted for the bailout... one switched. McDermott... he can stay, the one's who voted no they are on my watchlist... I know I didn't have personally the say in that switch but you know one voice becomes 10, 10 become 100, 100 becomes a 1000.... for god's sake people take time off posting from sucks and watching tv and start emailing these fucktards.. tell them what you think... don't be partisan write them all... kick them all out and help this country... now is the time for another revolution.. John Adams style, |

McCain has zero to do with Rove... there is no love lost there due to the shit Rove threw at him.. he is out of the loop on this one... but his current people
are all students of this and they could not use the black shit that was backfiring and so they went with the pussy problem.... obama definitely did not like
hiliary and as a result is using that against him... it was smart, smart, smart and they found dumb, dumb and dumber to fill that... there are many intelligent
Republican women... I think of Christine Todd Whitman, green-ish, woman, and has Executive and Presidential Experience... but no they knew she was a perfect
foil.. they did good and made Rove proud but he had nothing to do with this.. Rove actually was blindsided as well and in interviews prior to Palin's
suggestion was surprised as anyone.

I used to be a history teacher.. and the way I 'taught' history was backwards... from contemporary day to past as in making connections.. so if I was
teaching this today of course we would look at the Gilded Age but I would actually go back further to the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire... there are
strong contrasts... kids need to see connections to what is then and now to understand the relevance of the past. We could easily use Vietnam for Iraq and of
course Afghanistan as Korea... we sort of walked out on that one as well.. Hello Kim Jong...
I am truly a lover of the system.. I am not bailing on America my parents were immigrants or children of them, they were children of the depression and of war and they understood the fight... I respect anyone who puts up a fight.. but we have to work within this fucked up system.. we have no choice.. I keep thinking of Adams and what would he do... he would write and write some more, get pissed off, bitch and keep writing... so pick up your pens... start writing.... keep writing.... and watch Rome.. get the DVD of that series and well look at closely let me know what you think. |
