Well, he did get convicted of Wrongful Death is civil court, that is admissable. And whether the jury aquitted him in the criminal trial or not, he did lead police on a high-speed chase trying to escape to Mexico while a suspect in a double homicide-that can't be denied. Not to mention the wife-beating. All of this supports the assertion that the man frequently finds himself embroiled in violent crimes and does not make good descisions.Dude, I totally agree with you. What I didn't express well I guess is that there is really no one in this country who doesn't know about OJ's first trial. So even if it weren't brought up during this one, it's still in everyone's head somewhere.

OJ deserves to go to jail for simply choosing a jury. Everyone has heard of his case and bias will always be there. Had the sick murdering bastard simply
chosen a judge, no jury, he would have had a better shot.

His lawyers wanted that jury just to set up a retrial. At least that's what they should be telling everybody.

It all depends on the Nevada Supreme Court (there is no intermediate appellate court in Nevada). If they think OJ got a raw deal based on jury composition,
they can order a new trial, and based on what I've read about the jury (aside from the presiding judge's flair for the dramatic), it's a distinct
possibility.
It could very well be years before this is over. OJ will likely remain behind bars for the duration, since he's a proven flight risk, but the legal battle is far from settled. |

The racial composition of the jury reflects that of the state, though. The population is 7.9% African American. I was thinking about if this happened in AZ, where less than 5% of the population is African American. The odds of getting a jury with an African American on it would be quite small. |
