Crash managed to make my yearly Top Ten list back in 2005, beating off a swarm of great foreign features,
documentaries & indie flicks. Don't get me wrong, I found Paul Haggis' material to be exceedingly slight & shallow. In that sense, it felt like
a Movie of the Week on some network rather than a searing, provocative exploration on race. However, I couldn't get enough of the intertwining plot
strands, competent direction & perfect casting. It was an American Graffiti fanatic's wet dream.
Anyway, the film is now a series on Starz! Yes, you heard that right. The premiere episode is airing for free on their website in the hopes of snagging some more subscriptions.
