I still don't understand why the Final 2 last year happened because of medivacs. Can someone please explain? James still stayed on the Jury.

Yeah, but at the time of his evac they didn't know that he'd be able to stay.

The great characters of Natalie and Parvati really didn't emerge until after the merge. Erik wasn't a major character until the Ami boot. You have to wait and see. It's hard to develop characters when there are still this many left. I never thought Natalie would say anything of consequence last season and then out of nowhere she has a million one-liners per episode. |

If James stays in the game, there are 7 people remaining and 3 episodes to get to the finale.
If James stays in the game, they need to eliminate 5 people over 3 episodes before the final TC to have a F2 finale. There's usually 1 or 2 people booted in the finale, so we're left with 3 boots over 2 episodes. Never in the history of the show have they done a double boot with two tribal councils after the merge. Also, strictly from a production standpoint, if the F2 was planned, there was no reason for them to have Eliza on the Jury. They could simply start the Jury at 9 like in all pre-Cook Islands seasons and avoid the possibility of a tie vote. Is this provable? Not unless we can get someone from production to confirm or deny it. But lots of things indicate that the F2 was likely not intended as the original finale format. |

You know, I'm one of the biggest "I think the F2 was planned from the beginning" people around, but you may have changed my mind. But one thing: perhaps they intended James to have a boot episode all his own, and just extend the series one episode. This was filmed during the writer's strike so maybe an extended series was in the works. Probst's Myspace blog after the Micronesia finale indicated it was a planned twist from the start. "... we have to mix things up, which is why we changed it this year. It caught the women off guard and it no doubt cost Cirie 1 million dollars. She was hands down the winner if she made it to the final." |

But say Natalie had made F3 instead of Cirie. Would they still have done it? I don't think so.

They could still do an early merge , where booted people are not on jury. and it's not a five person jury. YWIA. :)

The person who spoiled the final 2, I believe, said that it was because of the James evacuation. Though, this person also said that James wasn't actually
injured, but he and Alexis went out and got some cookies, so the producers basically forced them to be the next two gone. James at 7, and Alexis at 6. I
actually believe that last part, haha.

Does anyone else think that there will be a double boot on Episode 5 or Episode 6 depending if you count the first episode as 2 and a recap? There would
have to be in order to finish by December 14 (the normal finale time). The schedule also does not make sense. By Day 15 there will only be 5 people voted
out. That is following the schedule of a 16 person season. There are 18 people this season, so there would have to be a double boot. There are 14 people
left and assuming there are four people in the finale, I think that the following will happen:

There's rumor of an early merge this season, and I doubt they do a recap episode that late. If the merge is at 12, as speculated, they they'd have to
do a double boot episode this week, otherwise they'd end up doing it during the individual portion of the game, which would be hard to pull off and wouldnt
make a lot of sense. There also hasnt been any rumors of a medevac this season either...but there's a lot we dont know.
I'd say if they stay on that schedule, they probably just wont show the recap....or they'll do the recap for the first hour of a two hour block or something. |

I thought an early merge was inevitable.

They have traditionally done recap episodes in 16 person seasons in order to boost the episode count.to 14 episodes. Episodes 1 and 2 were intended as 1-hour
standalone episodes, so there really shouldn't be a need for a double boot, unless they're going to use a F2 this season. We have 10 episodes left, so
they need to eliminate 9 people over 9 episodes to get to a F5 (for a F3 finale), and 10 people over 9 episodes to get to a F4 (for a F2 finale.) There's
always been a double boot in 18-person seasons previously, but there's no need for them to schedule one if the endgame format is a F3. We could have a
recap episode this year, but with an 18 person season, it would probably air in addition to a thursday night episode.

That is because they had to do a certain amount of episodes for that season. James was evac the afternoon after a tribal council night. So they did not have
enough material to make a full episode from that morning until james got evac. So they had James and Alexis leaving on the same episode. That left them short
of one episode. To discount on that, they made a final 2

So if james had taken ciries advice and had medic take care of his finger sooner, she may very well have been our winner! ETA: one thing i was thinking about taht made me wonder why medic didnt step in sooner was the risk of rabies. If you get rabies your fucked. They were sleeping under a bat cave with bat poop and bat urine all around, hes finger was shredded and all he would have had to do to get rabies is touched bat urine with that finger. If I was on medic i wouldve stepped in alot sooner to clean that up and give him the vaccinations.

A question about the bootsheet. On it, it says that Dan knows about Crystal's gold medal from the Olympics... when or how did he find out? |

GC and Kelly will both definitely be gone within the next couple of episodes. Kelly because how else would she have become friends with Jacquie unless they
were on the prejury vacation together? They were complete enemies on the show. And GC because of the infamous sao tome comment.

Interesting! I wonder what Dan will do with Crystal, knowing that info from Gillian?
