I actually liked the senator's dress down of the Walkers. It is just a TV show, but I can't believe that none of the Walkers could put their beef with
Kitty (whether she was right or wrong) aside long enough for the sake of adoption of a new child. I could see if Kitty was trying to impress a new boyfriend,
but it's a new niece/nephew/grandchild. Nora, of all people, would hold her tongue long enough (not to mention Tommy who's had his own issues with
having children). Ruined dinner aside, all of the Walkers making digs throughout dinner seemed like something straight out of STEP BY STEP.

Holly is an awesome villain, but now I'm confused as to why she got the money when Rebecca is obviously not a Walker. I thought the reason she got a
percentage of the sale fo that land in AZ was because Rebecca was thought o be kin. Anyway, I would love for Sarah to quit the company but then there
wouldn't be any drama between her and Holly or Tommy. But I feel that for the character to grow she needs to either leave or the power dynamics at the
company have to change again.
McAllister annoys me to no end, but he wasn't really lambasted in the book so he really can't bitch. Kitty should've told her family about the book considering it was about them. Her character has really lost it's umph. She's become as sanctimonious as her husband. And I'm excited to find out about this Ryan character. I hope he changes the dynamics of Holly's power hold on the family. |

I have the same questions you do, Sugarhill. The #1 reason Pa Walker had for giving Holly & Rebecca all that money has been proved false. You would think
at least Sarah would have thought about challenging Holly in court over it. That could be good stuff, imo. But no, we get more family squabbles instead.

When has Kitty ever cared about any of them anyway? She stabbed Kevin in the back repeatedly to take a job with her hot new date prospect Senator Sanctimonious. She abandoned her family for many years. She treats Sarah like crap. She shunned Rebecca. I always used to think she at least liked Justin, but after last night, I don't anymore. I just wish they would get some new plots instead of mystery kids and fighting.

Because the Walker family adores the third generation of Walkers (in spite of whatever temporary beef they may have with one another), and Kitty's child would become another member of that third generation. All biases against Kitty aside, it's not the least bit realistic based on their characterization (especially that of a doting grandmother and a brother who struggled with starting a family) that they could all be so mad at Kitty enough to interfere with the adoption of another niece/nephew/grandchild.. Absurd plotline, and somebody needed to call them out on their collective shit, even if it was the annoying politician brother-in-law.

This was no actual child. This was a meeting with a social worker. Kitty's reaction to actual children was contempt (first Rebecca, and now saying she doesn't give a shit about Ryan). She's so petty that she even insulted Tommy's baby in her book, even though she was the one who convinced Kevin to agree to help Tommy and his wife have a child. I'd say the Walkers have been much more accepting of her attempts to have kids than Kitty has ever been with them. Even now, they got over their anger with her in a ridiculously short amount of time and will probably continue enabling her. Meanwhile, her idea of support is babysitting Sarah's kids once a year. The same annoying politician who had spent the earlier meeting with the social worker making digs at Kitty. It may be violins, but Kitty did abandon her family. She put her career and her neuroses before them and when she did come back it was to whine about how poorly they treated her. They have tried to love her and support her, and in return she has worked against them over and over (working as a GOP foot soldier, with a homophobic, right wing senator, marrying him, trying to get him elected President, writing a book that trivializes her family). |

Holly is past redemption at this point too. Before you could sort of understand her motives, but now she's a bitch for the sake of being bitchy. In nighttime TV drama terms, 'past redemption' means 'deliriously fabulous' The absolutely best part is when she flirtaciously stretched across that chair and said, "I need some help. My daughter has mental issues." And then asks that random dude to go find info on Ryan. |

Well I guess when you've already decided that Kitty is the devil, none of the other characters can ever be wrong about anything. |

It's the show that feels Kitty can do no wrong. They wouldn't even allow her family to be mad at her for an entire episode. They paint her and her
husband as being perfect. None of the other characters get the same treatment.
I have watched this show from very early on and I saw how Kitty was when Justin joined the Army. I saw how she was when Tommy wanted Kevin to help Julia get pregnant. She was one of the people most responsible for these events happening. And now when she twists those events to make them look pathetic, I'm left wondering just what the hell is going on in her head. The show apparently sees her book as some type of truth to power. My choice is either hatred of her and her husband or bewilderment at what has happened to this show. |

That may have been true in the first season, but Sarah has lost most of her purpose as a character. She now exists mostly to get into fights with people. Nora is still an important character, although she also seems to lack purpose. Holly has been written into a corner, and Rebecca and Kitty only exist for the men in their lives.I have to disagree with you. Sarah is one of the few reasons I watch B&S. She often puts Holly in her place (when she told Holly she had no life last night, I about died) and is the only sibling to do so. She's also the only single sibling as of now, which leaves the door open to some new storyline for her. We've never seen single Sarah before. She also has two children, one of which is about to enter the bratty stages, so we'll get some good material that might echo Holly/Rebecca's relationship. |

She often puts Holly in her place (when she told Holly she had no life last night, I about died) and is the only sibling to do so.That's part of what I mean. When Sarah started out, she was more than just the perpetually unhappy sibling who goes to war with Holly. There's a lot of material available for Sarah they ignore because their focus is always on how she does in the business. |

Well, it was the exact same plot and structure of every other episode - but I did like the book angle.

The writers need to be locked in a room and start brainstorming, because they are clearly out of ideas. I think the Ryan storyline is ridiculous. How many
illegitimate children are out there? But seriously, I don't think the writers appreciate that destroying Pa Walker's reputation like this only makes Ma
Walker look like a fool.

This show needs to be centered on Sarah, not Kitty. Kitty's whole arrangement is completely utterly absurd -- a barren campaign manager and former talk
show host married to a not-really-conservative senator with a gay brother. Sarah is a working woman with two kids recently over a divorce. Which is more
relatable to you? There are so many more directions to take Sarah, but they frankly haven't. I want her to go back to her old job and fuck the brains out
of that one guy from the very first episode.
Well, actually, Nora needs to be the center of the show again, but I guess we're never going to go back to those glory days. |

They really do underutilize Rachel Griffith. She is an amazingly strong actress, and they good by always putting her in viper modem followed by a
moment-to-herself-sigh so we know she has a tough life. I agree with Gregoire that she is the most relatable character, along with (oddly enough) Scotty, who
is really the audience stand-in of this show.

Sarah and Holly at it yet again. I love Sarah's viper-nature. She always makes Holly out to be a deer in headlights.

I guess we got the Justin pity party this week to make up for the rare absence of the Kitty pity party.
Does Scotty ever leave the house? I have a hard time believing this client would not have known Kevin is gay (only a year ago Kevin's love life was a national media topic), but at least it gave Kevin something to do. Fantastic performances, as always, from Matthew Rhys and Rachel Griffiths. |

I really thought the Kevin plotline this week was unexpected (he didn't have a noble speech with his boss) and well acted by Matthew Rhys. It could have
gone off the rails in so many ways. It was a nice balance to the dull Justin/Rebecca stuff.
