Obama did exactly what he needed to do to become president.

See, I seem to agree that McCain started out confident and then just went batshit crazy.
It was , as they just said on CNN, almost like anger management up there. It looked like all he could do to not throttle Obama. |

The only thing that kept me awake during that debate was picturing John McCain with an eyepatch prison-fucking Tricia Helfer.

Watching McCheapshot flail about like a lobster at a seafood restaurant thoughout this debate is painful. He is so far out of his depth. But more to the point, he's come to the Rovian Dinner Party about 8 years too late. Nobody is buying what he's selling: cheap shots, lies, distortions, petty non-issues. It's so over for him. Cockamamie. Goodies. Maverick. He just doesn't sound like you and me. He sounds like a really angry, angry old man. |

I don't think this was a debate that will change anyone's views.

I agree that Obama was not strong in the beginning, but he won out the end for sure.

More love for the moderator!
Apparently I am in the minority in thinking this was McCain's worst debate. All the wonks seem to think he did really well. *shrug* |

Rachel Maddow agrees with you. She thought it was McCain's worst.

It seemed like every time it was McCain's turn to talk, he would lead by saying negative things about Obama, whereas Obama tended more to lead with
positive things about himself rather than attacking right away.

Why does Obama need to be aggressive if people are already agreeing with everything he's saying?
