Kenley's Website
Yup. No pants. Leanne's Website Also, no pants. I wonder why she refuses to do pants (must be untalented). And a disturbing amount of leggings. Korto's Website Again, no pants, though she did do a couple of shorts. Does making shorts lift one out of the "untalented" label? |

I like how Kenley models her own "Fascinators"

Brave Kenley had to step in. Screerider wrote:Not sure what point you're trying to make, but none of these women have more than 8-10 items on their websites. And all of them, I would venture to say, are doing all their own sewing. So they're more likely to promote the biggest ticket items, which are dresses. If it were me, I know that's the way I'd do it. Half of Kenley's are her dumb-ass "fascinators" ... though I guess she has a point. I am fascinated why in the hell anyone would put one of those fugly things on their heads. Much less pay $65. for one. I notice none of them are out of stock. Korto's ... she looses big time for the gawd-awful picture of her in the leapord swimsuit on the "upcoming events" page. In my book, that one alone qualifies her for the "untalented label." |

What the hell is a fascinator? Retro's cute until it makes me google.

Just go to her website (link is above)--they are, apparently, those doodads she wears on her head.

Mister Yuck wrote:Those things are just awful. You know people laugh at her when she walks down the street with those things on her head. When I was a young teen back in the swingin 80s, they came out with something like that for the kids. Luckily it was the age group just younger than me. They looked like headbands that girls wear, but with two spiraly metal antennae things poking out of the top with two like silver balls on the ends. The idea was that you were supposed to look like a "Martian", I guess. Then they had the ones with the flashing lights...it was just so ridiculous. The kids were all walking around with those things on their heads. Does anyone else remember this, or am I crazy? |

Screerider wrote:You don't seriously think they're ever intending to cater to commoners, do you? If so, not only would they need to design 99.9% pants, but they'd have to do it in at least a size 16 ... which I think is the median clothing size worn by women. And just how interesting do you think a show like that would be. Shit, if that's what we all wanted to watch, we could all just toddle on down to WalMart and watch the women waddle up and down the aisles. Fashion designers don't design for everyday women. They design for women who don't care about the practicality of the clothing, who want to be able to throw it in the wash, who want to be able to afford it. They're desigining for the left over .01% of the population ... if that many. Having a variety of clothing styles in their runway shows just helped show some versatility. If all Kenley can design is a dress with the sillouette of a 1950s poodle-skirt ... which she does very well ... it rather makes her a one-hit wonder. Not someone who will show something (hopefully) fresh and new the next time out. I think that's what they're looking for. |

THANK YOU.
I couldn't remember for the life of me what those stupid things were called. That's what Kenley's "fascinators" remind me of. |

Kenley copied those too??? Shameful!

Screerider wrote:I don't know that it's shameful ... but along with her 40s-50s style clothing, it always made it quite laughable how she kept droning on about how the other designers didn't do anything fresh and new like she did. |

They had past contestants design for Michelle Obama. I only liked 1 - Alison Dahl Kelly from Season 3. |

I like Alison's too. I like the cocktail length.
Leanne's is great as well; I just hate the pockets. I LOVE Chris March. |
