They are addressing why it is difficult for them to do what Tyra is asking them to do - which is generally to behave like a big, emotional, over-the-top, self-involved, gaping wound. This is a specifically American* way to behave.* And while being Russian and being French may not be the same thing, they are similar in that they are both NOT AMERICAN. Now, the reason why both countries (and the rest of Europe) produce loads of working models is because behaving like big, emotional, over-the-top, self-involved gaping wounds is NOT AN IMPORTANT CRITERIA for being a working model. It's only important on this show because Tyra is a big, emotional, over-the-top, self-involved gaping wound, and she wants her models to aspire to be like her... That's why it's called AMERICA's Next Top Model, Drew. Watching this competition continues to enforce the fact that as long as ANTM is the most popular way of getting into modeling, America will never again produce a top model. I agree with Joaquenix, you're an idiot. There are plenty of American born top models. None of them have been on this show. Google is your friend. Use it.

I so thought Tyra would keep a really bad token black chick until the final four like almost every other season with a white winner. She needs to get rid of that awful clown hair. I bet that was the first thing she did when she finished with the show.

Also, I believe a survey of service employees around the world ranked French customers as the most rude.

And, between the fat, gay, African-American twins, the old bald guy in the eye-liner and tights (and later in the white spiked outfit) and the broad with the pink hair and the old-Jewish-guy glasses, this episode felt like a David Lynch movie.

(Makes it sound like Joslyn does survive this elimination.) shocked face of Elina, half-smile of Joslyn. camera pans out to show Elina's picture "Elina." Elina takes in a huge breath of air. That was great.

Posts: 24 (10/25/08 1:14 AM) Reply Quote More Recent Posts	My DVR cut off at the end right after Tyra told Joslyn she would survive this too, my BF and I both figured she was safe and went on chatting about Elina leaving. I was pretty shocked to come here and read that Joslyn did in fact go. First time a black girl never made it overseas, right? The editing, with this cast, I have to say now is the best cycle since 6. In Cycle 8 the characters were great but the "first confessional" stuff was becoming very obvious. Nice to be on my toes for the whole episode...
