I know that there are plenty of American models doing great this day and age. But they're not exactly cultural touchstones in the making, are they? It's not like in the 1980s or 1990s, when supermodels, American and otherwise, were at the top of the world and setting the trends for fashion and culture. Actually, I agree with you.

I was more or less trying to point out that although Tyra has really no relevance in who becomes models or who books jobs...she does have an audience, and some of that audience sees the show, and some think they can model.
