The first episode's treatment of Ken was sympathetically P, while the treatment of Randy was deliberately N. That's enough to keep Ken on, and Randy off, the list of contenders. Ken's main problem is that there have been innumerable opportunities to develop his edit since then, since he's on highly visible Fang. Those opportunities have been declined, and Ken's edit has seemed like it's meant to go into the edgic dictionary next to MOR. And there have been a number of brief scenes where Ken comes off slightly N that are not disqualifying in themselves, but discouraging given the absence of reasons for us to care about him. (His full-blown N episode was perhaps less damaging to his chances than these little scenes.)
All in all, Ken seems most likely designed to be a character we're not sorry to see lose.
