Other than Marcus, Ken's are the only worthwhile stats.

99.99% certain Marcus wins. My 0.01% goes to Kenny.

Actually it's "Huge gap" and that's the best way for me to show that Marcus has a 99% chance and Ken has a 1% chance, in my opinion. :)

Some observations...
- Dan has 3 OTT2's in a row! 3 OTT's in a row is hard enough to come by, but at a 2 visibility for all of them it's just really strange.
- Crystal is a LOT more negative than I thought. She has 4 N's on this chart, I've only given her 1 so far on mine (for this episode, and it was just MORN). And she's also very very high visibility. Her & Sugar are getting good edits actually for females.
- Matty's edit reminds me of Ozzy's last season, Bob's reminds me of Denise, Ken's reminds me of Peih Gee.
- Marcus' visibility is actually pretty high. He's never had below a 3.

Looking at where the spotlight has fallen each episode:

Ep1- Michelle and Gillian are big distractions. Bob is used to hide Marcus on Kota. Randy, GC, and Kenny get heavy CP edits. Marcus says hello and Charlie sings his praises.

Ep2- GC, Dan, and Randy are the big noise. Charley and Marcus establish the core of the end game.

Ep3- The Ace and Sugar story begins. Charley and Marcus drop into the slow lane.

Ep4- Fang noise continues to rule. The switch-up happens and Ken's story gets noisy and complex.
Corinne is put on ice, Charlie on life support, and Marcus surfaces to polish up his resume' for the final TC.

Ep5- Fang continues to be all the noise. The Sugar-Ace story joins the noise. Ken drops back into support roll for the main activity.
Corinne is DOA, Charlie barely breathing, and Marcus hits cruise control. Slow and steady is our golden boy's edit.

Ep6- Double TC, so we finally get a bit of Kota noise. But, it's ex-Fangs Randy and Dan. Marcus is putting us to sleep with MOR3. Meanwhile Fang is one big immediate-story riot.

Ep7- Nearing that merge (or fake-merge. Either way it's a pivotal moment in the season.) So, Marcus slaps it into first and hits the pedal. The big CP Puppet Master reappears.

Another distraction is booted and Sugar seems to hit some sort of high point in her story. I hope she lasts a while, because it will mean there's some end game story, other than the Onion Alliance rolling through, (as seems logical).

Ken steps it up to become CP. This is a climb from his holding position. A bit early for the winner, though. Looks like he (and Sugar) will possibly have more story in the mid-game.

Don't take this as some sort of complete synopsis. I'm just noting what's going on center stage and who is being prepped in the wings.

Marcus seems the obvious winner, with Kenny possibly having a surprisingly strong mid-season, as some part of Sugar, Crystal, Matty and Ken try to survive post- merge.

If I have a gripe about the semi-consensus ratings so far (well, I have several, but this one sticks out) is the matter of M tones for Randy.
The standard for M might be the most concise of anything on page 1: Noticeably P and N in the same episode. What on earth were the P moments for Randy? We were primarily arguing about whether his snide, sarcastic and witheringly blunt confessionals were N or not. I don't recall anyone thinking they were dramatically P, because they weren't. I found them N yet amazingly accurate and was more than happy to give him a "good" N, and noted that his N-ocity was almost entirely relegated to confessionals. The N SPVs against him were almost nil, and you never saw him get into the Crystal-like arguments of recent episodes with others.

M is beginning to become one of those bellwether edgic objects, like the INV - M indicates a blurry, uncertain, and ill-defined edit in early episodes, the sort of edit that doesn't allow the viewer to get a good read on the player -- and hence is bad: how many winners got several pre-merge M's, right?

I think we all got a good read on Randy, and I don't think a single one of us thinks of him as P in those episodes. He is the wily player, cantankerous and snide in confessionals but plays humble bunny or loyal alliance member when with others. M simply doesn't fit.

Not that he's winning, mind you. He just wasn't very M.

I didn't have a problem with the first one, disagreed with the second one, but you're on the exact same track I am. Only Earl has gotten an M pre-merge and won, and that was episode 6 or 7, right before the merge. Mixed early, so far, has applied to the likes of Randy and Peih Gee, two people who otherwise might look like contenders, and M seems to be awful when coming early. Winners are defined early, then tinkered with late to screw with your mind. I think Randy was all over the map in episode one, and he shouldn't be if he had won.

I do think keeping your eyes on it. If once again an early M helps knock people out, the better. It works.

And Marcus will win, so it will! :-)

Great summary FLF. I also meant to mention it caught my attention in putting together the EC this week that this is the first week Marcus does not hold the top spot all to himself. Ken and Marcus are tied.

Arguing for a Ken edgic win at this point (IMHO) is as justified mathematically as doing so for Marcus. I'm even starting to see a real crafting in his story. Imagine him turning the tables on Marcus in a final five situation in his "Aw shucks" way. What if Survivor plays out as Napolean Dynamite? The out of place geek makes good and gets the crowd cheering for him in the end. Just some thoughts as we head toward the merge.

I'm not in anyway trying to diminish Marcus' edit, only wanting to keep in mind that there is another who fits as well.

(As far as the others? Edgic would have some splainin' to do)

People are overusing OTT. Dan has never really been more than MOR - just kind of there.

The consensus among the posters here is to hate Crystal - I believe she's getting more N's than the editing actually intends, but I'm tired of arguing about it. The high visibility, especially among the later episodes, is a sure sign she doesn't win. That isn't a good winner edit, female or otherwise.

I agree with you on Ken's edit being similar to Peih Gee - it is good enough to be considered for winner status, but clearly not the best. Matty isn't as clearly the villain as Ozzy was (though he began tending that way last episode), and Bob has been more present than Denise at this point (though not by much).

A visibility number never tells the whole story - relative visibility is what is important. Marcus has only rarely stood out above the noise.

GC = OTTN
Dan = UTR (could go MOR)
Crystal = MOR(N)
Ace = CPN (could go MORN)

I haven't seen the OTT at all. This last episode, he finally showed some insight, but before that I saw him as a UTR nothing edit, a more boring version of Nick from Terry Island.
