Ok, how come Dandrew gets to go back and do it again? I remember in AR4, Richen/Chip had to stay and wait for 30min? I thought it was the same in AR10 for
those 2 gay dudes?

It's all editing. They can still edit to make the ending suspenseful. I just hate the inconsistency of the rule!
I'd rather see Sarah/Terrence then those 2 dumb tarts! |

I think it has to do with time lost from misreading the clue. The typical penalty seems to be 30 min. My guess is that if it would be more than 30 minutes,
they give them that penalty. Also, they only let the teams go back when it's walking to the pit-stop (minus Heave). I think when the nerds made a
mistake, it was in the middle of the leg.

They probably impose the 30 min. penalty when teams are too far away for a re-do and/or nobody would have enough $ left for a r/t taxi in order to re-do the
missed step (or can't hail a taxi at all).

According to Terrence and Sarah's interview, it was because they were physically able to go back and do the task, as it was the last thing prior to a pit
stop. It's different than, say, Mark and Bill's miscue where they couldn't have really gone back to the plaza, walk, and then come back in a
reasonable amount of time.
And it turned out to be a seven minute difference between Dandrew and Terrence/Sarah (who made up about 3 or so hours on DA considering the drive to and from the FF was an hour each way IIRC). |
