I love Chick-Fil-A, but McDonald's Southern-style sandwich is giving them a run of their money.

Visa Declined wrote:Ugh, if I wanted to go to Chick-fil-a, I'd have to travel 75 miles just to get to the nearest one -- IN A MALL. The nearest restaurant is nearly 100 miles away. I may be willing to take a day trip out to Sacramento now that gasoline is cheap, though (woo hoo to filling up a whole tank of gas under $20). Love the sandwiches. Love the waffle fries. Love the pickles. Love the chicken nuggets and strips. Love the sweet iced tea. Love the lemonade. Love the barbecue sauce. |

I had it for lunch today. What made it even better was it was free. The local owners came to my work and gave out coupons to celebrate their anniversary.

I don't think Chick-fil-a is anything special because I live in Georgia
Their new milkshakes are the best fast food milkshakes ever though. |

What does living in Georgia have to do with it?? Just better chicken down there?
I haven't tried the milkshakes, but the chicken biscuit is the shit. |

i don't get the love, but when they opened one here, people CAMPED OUT in the parking lot for 24 hours to win a free meal a week for 3 months or something.
we just stared at them from the starbucks next door. |

I love Chik-fil-a too. A friend works for a private equity firm that's been trying to buy them for like 5 years. They want to sell franchises and bring
it up North and where ever else it doesn't yet exist. The family won't sell though. Yet. Wait till maw and paw die off and the children will
probably take the money and run.

Chick-fil-a is based in Atlanta so it's been around FOREVER, and there are so many of them around that it just falls in to the category of generic fast
food along with McDonald's, BK, Wendy's, etc. even if the quality is slightly better. People from other places act like it's a step up from that.
