Nice. #3 is good. Looks like he's got some good sales coming in too.

Heh just as you all predicted...
Yea, as I was going to pick up my Archie album, both Cook's and Archie's albums were nearly sold out =O. Great job to both of them! |

I'm excited that Cook's #s are going to be high this week but at the very least I wanted him to be above Nickelback. They blow really hard. I actually
bothered to listen to Archuleta's album, I will never bring myself to listen to a Nickelback CD, ever. I'd sooner by 10 copies of Archie's CD than
even touch a Nickelback one.

Ditto, SHC. I haven't even previewed any of Nickelback's songs. I just find that they suck, and I can hardly bare listening to the lead's voice.
It's grating IMO.

Looking good. He's probably going to end up just shy of 300K? Sweet.

I'd guess around 250k for Cook. Beyonce slammed him in sales and Nickelback is well ahead as well. #3 it is.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing to be 3rd to or slammed by two popular, established (albeit imo shitty) artists.

Hey, I think Nickelback sucks ass too. Even Beyonce isn't that amazing of a singer, she just happens to get great material like Halo.
But yeah, #3 ain't bad at all. I would rather debut at 3 with more copies sold than 2 or 1. |

You mean more copies sold in the long run, or what do you mean?

Debuts. I would rather someone debut at #3 with 250,000 rather than #1 at 120,000. Yeah you get bragging rights for number 1 but there's no guarantee
you'll sustain sales.

Yeah okay I get it now.
Debut # doesn't mean much, it's how many albums you sold. You can be #2 one week with 200 K, but the next week 250 K might only get you 3rd. |

I think the days of the Idols selling 4 or 5 million copies are long over.
If any of these guys make it to 2 million, it will be cause for celebration. |

I think the days of seeing ANYONE sell 4 or 5 million are over....such a shame.

Yeah, the state of music buying these days is pretty sad.
I'm just impressed that Cook is going to debut around 300 K when that's up there with what Daughtry and Carrie debuted with 2-3 years ago. |

I'm amazed that many people would buy a Beyonce CD, especially with that awful Tyra Banks title. I thought people enjoyed her as a performer, if anything,
not as a recording artist.
Which AI winner had the highest selling debut week for their first CD? |

According to this thing I stole from IDF it was actually Ruben, but that makes sense since the industry has been going downhill for a while.
