Don't forget that we've got two separate futures on our hands right now: Derek's in which he wasn't tortured by the West Wing guy and
Derek's murdering hosebag's, in which he was. Only in hosebag's future was grwon up John holed up with Cameron -- in Derek's, he's fine,
effectively commanding the resistance as we've seen in flashforwards.
So he has to figure out whether to let murdering hosebag destroy Cameron or not, presumbably he's going with the latter.
Anyhow, Reilly almost has to be from the future, sent back by somebody to cuddle up with young John. No right-thinking teenage girl would simply believe so passionately on just murdering hosebag's word alone that the world is on the verge of coming to an end. She had to have seen it herself. Plus figure in the foster parents and her pursuit of the otherwise sullen and detached John, plus being in cahoots with murdering hosebag, and voila: she must be from murdering hosebag's future, there to help destroy Cameron and also to provide a human shoulder to cry on when she succeeds.
Then again, maybe she's a terminator herself?
