Everybody wants to hate on poor Susie but I think she was a victim of editing. As you could see from the Insider clips, she was vocal, entertaining, and not
just sitting around. She certainly played a harder game than Matty and Bob. I can't say she outplayed Sugar, but she played a different kind of game. She
had the guts to flip on the Kota-Six which sparked the events that followed. And yes, while that was only ONE vote...it set the stage for what was to come.
With Kenny gone, who knows what the remaining Fangs would have done? Give her SOME credit! She was smart enough to flip when she had to. She flipped on Marcus,
then on Kenny/Crystal when she saw things weren't going her way. She was a smart player, and she won TWO Immunities! TWO!
Susie was a thinker and while many of her antics didn't make the show, we can't hold that against her. She was an actual FAN of the show, so I give her props for that.
As a sidenote, just being on "Survivor" as a minority PERIOD I can see being a challenge, so I give her credit for making it so far. When you have that extra handicap against you, it isn't easy. I know people are going to talk sh!t and say it isn't, but it is..that's an everyday fact of life. Even Corinne called her a friggin' "migrant worker" missing from a farm. It shows you what little respect there was in that game, and I suspect Randy is a bit racist too because of his "gang" comment to Crystal about her and G.C.. Look back on the seasons: nobody respects Sandra for winning, even though she made it to the end despite having her alliance eliminated and having a big mouth. She didn't even get the winners' spot on the DVD cover!!!
I realize Susie's winning tonight would have been a letdown, but imagine how she must feel. Coming in second-place in this show and watching it back home...and barely coming out at all. I think they downplayed Susie so much because they knew they had nothing with Bob as the winner. He was a dud, so they had to have somebody else be even LESS important than he was. Had Susie gotten the airtime she deserved, the Bob win would have been a huge bummer. I believe that wholeheartedly.
So...hate on me for writing this. Hate on Susie. But SUE! If you're out there.... I'm proud of you. A middle-aged mom, the daughter of immigrants, and someone who was vastly underestimated...I wish I could have gotten to know you better through the show. But kudos for outlasting self-proclaimed "smart" and "popular" people like Corinne and Marcus. Nobody can deny the amount of personality you had, moreso than tons of people who have gotten better edits and more airtime in the past (Neleh, Clay, Matt, Danielle, etc).
Susie Smith, I applaud you for your 2nd place achievement and what you've done as a person of color on the show! As a video editor myself, it pains me to see someone so obviously robbed by the editors of the show. I don't think anyone can give me a good reason she was snubbed. She wasn't THAT bad of a player. Lame-o, I say!

he never made a smart move in the game, he never won anything
in the game, ken maybe but he had gotten waaaay too cocky, bob (who?) and sugar also had smart moves i agree, but for me i just wouldn't have liked her
