I didn't notice anything unusual in his appearance, no. He's always been fit and trim as long as I've known him.

I've decided I don't think he was in Brazil during November, but I appreciate the info folks posted or sent me. I'm going to ask him anyway next time I see him.

I believe he was a Thailand finalist. Or Marquesas. I forget.

Yeah. Saw him this evening and we talked about Gabon. Says he was not a participant in Tocantins. Says he'd tell me if he was.

Somehow, he doesn't even remember exactly what season his application was for. It was sometime during or after Australia, but not in time for Africa. At the time, he didn't know where the competition was going to be held, but he thinks that had he been selected, it probably would have been for the Thailand show. He thinks his application/video was in time for Marquesas, but his interviews were probably for when they were casting Thailand.

He hasn't heard from them since, and even though he's still a fan of the show, says he's not interested in competing in Survivor now anyway, and would rather get a shot at the Amazing Race. Of course, if Survivor called, he'd go.

I'm sold that he's telling the truth and not a contestant; but if there does turn out to be a "Barry" from San Diego in Tocantin afterall, then you'll know that I was played.
