I love the cast and was all in from the beginning. I started crying before the ding dang thing came on and then about 10 mins in one of the contestants
fell and they shook the camera. Then the doctor showing the woman her calculated age (48, 49, 50...). What is up with that shit? If you have a good cast you
don't have to add this crap. Then all the sponsoring of products (brita, jennyo...) all dressed up as a part of the show. The final straw was sending
those 9 poor big people home. Then trying to edit the whole thing like it was some high drama or someone was marching off to war.
When you have the biggest people you have ever had you don't need all this crap to bring in ratings. Where's the shark?

I mean, I saw about 9028 previews over the last week showing both that Daniel started at 454 pounds and that he lost 30 pounds at the first weigh-in. Then they showed it again at the beginning of the premiere. Yet, later in the show, before both his initial weigh-in and the week 1 weight loss reveal, they had dramatic commercial breaks. Like, really? Really? |

They absolutely would keep the cameras rolling to cover their asses in the event the white team's family sues if he were to die. Even if the guy signed
liability waivers they would want the footage to show his family that they did everything they could, or they would want it as the first documented death on
reality tv, or maybe the director failed to say "cut" cuz he was busy trying to get the paramedics there. It is not as if the cameramen are capable
of or expected to step in and assist anyway. Also, it is possible the EMTs told his wife that "he is fine, we are just going to take him in as a
precaution--you may as well stay, he'll be back in an hour or so..." The rationale for keeping him on campus is the same rationale for keeping any of
them on campus. He's a fatass and needs to lose weight. Clearly his fainting was not as serious as you think it to be, probably due to the editing. They
run tests on these people and if they were not capable of undertaking an exercise program they would not have been cast.
The incentive for the home-players is to 1) lose weight and 2) have a chance at winning the ultimate prize of being the biggest loser or 3) have a chance at winning the at-home eliminated player's prize. |
