I can't stand her dramatic weight gain.... she looks 30 pounds heavier between Season 1 and Season 2 she should be 300lbs by the start of Season 3.

It looks action packed this season. One thing I love and hate (more hate) about HBO is the huge gaps between seasons....are years passing actually still called gaps?...but they suck me back in as if it hadn't left. Men should be able to do that.

I think it's a testament to how well-crafted it is that I never once felt lost or behind on the story elements while watching it, and I haven't watched a single episode or caught up on any kind of plot synopsis since season two ended. Great show.

I think tonight's show was a little slow...draggy in places, but I guess they had to do that to cram everything in during the first episode. But still good, I guess. Loved Albie in the restroom. Poor, poor Albie...looking for love in all the wrong places. And Adalene...that sneaky snake. LOVE HER. For those of you who said Barb may die this season...I think you're right. That was sad. I usually hate Barb, but now I am starting to see her in a new light. Before I always thought she was just selfish, but her actions last night really showed how important her faith is to her and her need to take care of her family. I'm starting to <3 Barb and resent Margene a little bit which is a complete switch from where I was at the end of last season. Damn, this show is good.

Poor Frankie. I guess if Sarah leaves Bill will take Frankie in. Where's Rhonda? Did I miss anything?? Oh yeah, and I hate that bossy bitch wife of Albey's, what's her name? Laura? Can't stand her.

With Roman in jail and incensed at Alby for betraying him, Nicki temps at the DA's office to hunt down state's evidence for Adaleen. After learning she may have a cancer recurrence, Barb warms to the idea of Ana joining the family, though the waitress is resistant to the family's overtures. Meanwhile, Frank's teenage son Frankie ends up on Bill's doorstep after his father throws him to the curb for kissing a girl who's supposed to be marrying an old guy from the compound. Sarah shatters Heather's dream of attending the same local college. Roughed up in a bathroom, Alby becomes suspicious of Bill and, later, Adaleen. An annual block party becomes the battleground for Bill to defend the family against neighborhood gossip, and for Nicki to defend her lifestyle as the daughter of Roman Grant. Empire Bill and his family test out the group-dating waters with Ana, with mixed results. Bill presses ahead with his unlikely courtship of Jerry Flute, despite a sizable expense, a crisis in Don's family, and an apparent gaffe by Margene. Barb anxiously awaits test results from the hospital, while Nicki goes to a fertility clinic already knowing the result. Scott encounters unexpected resistance from Sarah when he offers to join her in Arizona. Roman puts the squeeze on Bill in an attempt to track down Rhonda, one of his would-be accusers. Frankie reveals a surprising side when he takes Sarah and her friends to a crash pad for wayward young polygamists. Frank visits Lois with new sister wife Jodean, and ends up staying longer than expected. Prom Queen As Bill debates what to do with Rhonda, who may or may not testify at Roman's impending trial, another potential witness, Kathy, goes underground with Joey and Wanda. Frank finds himself in a bind and at Lois' mercy, and tries to talk his way out of the predicament, though she is not moved. A revelation from Ana tests Bill's commitment, especially when he and Barb catch her in a compromising position. Margene gets disturbing personal news, but keeps her emotions in check. Barb's sister Cindy is back in town and heading up an anti-gaming committee that threatens the Henricksons' recent investments. Wanda spills a secret about Nicki's past that even Bill doesn't know, creating an instant rift and further fanning Bill's ire towards Roman. Sarah decides to attend her senior prom with Heather, with Ben and Frankie as their dates. A review that's kind of spoilery. Personal note: For anyone missing *The Sopranos-you may like Big Love. Check it out. Here are my old uneditednotes & 'snips": (dated July-Sept a draft I "lost" when WPress changed the dashboard and it kinda became buried)…was wondering where my Big Love stuff went…. I think I've already mentioned the two deaths and someone asking for a divorce in a previous post. Sources: Zap2it, Buddy TV and various newspaper articles & reviews Roman is on trial for statutory rape, Nicki will begin working for the DA under an assumed identity,(but also works with her mother on silencing witnesses/women from the compound) Barb's cancer may be back, Ana will be back but won't quite make it to fourth wife, Margene is 'social wife' for Weber and other ventures and Bill has a half-brother who has been kicked off the compound. Ana dates the family throughout the season. This doesn't go over very well with Sarah…and an Australian from Ana's past BuddyTV (07/07) According to TV Guide, Big Love is casting at least four new faces to fill in the shoes of new characters that are expected to thicken the drama and tension on the series. First up is Ray Henry, Nicki's boss at the law firm. Ironically, this character is described as a "good guy" lawyer who is prosecuting the rape case of Roman Grant, the prophet of the Juniper Creek Compound and Nicki's father. Then there's Franky, the character of Bill's half-brother. This 16-year-old hottie was reportedly kicked out from Juniper Creek. There is no word yet on how or why this character will suddenly turn up so fans will just have to stay tuned to the new episodes to find out. Viewers will also meet Jerry Flute, a Native-American power player who doesn't sit well with Bill and Don. This character is mostly likely to be opposed to the idea of the casino they intend to build on Blackfoot territory. Last but not the least, the Henricksons will be clashing with Rob O'Hare, a neighbor who doesn't see eye to eye with Bill's wives in terms of Bill's approach to marriage. -also a mother will attempt to take her kid's life. Zap2it.com notes that this involves a mother and son we know quite well and that it's a "main character's mama, whom we've met before." After the ending to last night's episode of Big Love, "Block Party," all we want to know is if Ana is going to join as the fourth wife. Unfortunately, that we don't know yet, but we do have some really good Big Love season three spoilers for you. Kristin Dos Santos caught up with the stars of Big Love at the season three premiere party and got some good questions answered: How far will Nicki go for her father? According to Jeanne Tripplehorn, "Nicki gets into a lot of trouble this year," and according to Chloe Sevigny, "In the third season Nicki's father is on trial. She tries to get some information about the trial from the district attorney's office, and she gets in a little over her head...There's a lot of ups and downs, a lot more secrets and lies." What killed Bill and Joey's sister Maggie? Yes, we will finally find out what happened to her. Grace Zabriskie (Bill's mom) reveals, "We're finding out what it means to Lois, and Bill is finding out a couple of things about it that he didn't know." The truth about Maggie's death is pretty horrifying, and it motivates Bill to finally face down an old enemy. Where do the Henricksons come from? According to Doug Smith (Ben), "This is the first time I ever went to the compound. Ben never went to the compound the first two seasons. You'll definitely see the younger, teenage Big Love castmembers at Juniper Creek." Can Heather and Sarah's friendship survive long-term? The fans will learn a shocking secret about Sarah at the end of episode two, but it will be a while before Heather catches on, and it's going to be a terrible shock for her when she finds out. According to Tina Marjorino, "Heather is really being tested this season with everything going on with Sarah (Amanda Seyfried). There are a lot of things that Heather's had to question and certain things that she's had to put aside to be friends with Sarah. It's a really good storyline, very intense." Is Barb going to die? Jeanne wouldn't spill any secrets about Barb's cancer, but she did at least tell us, "Barb has a personal crisis, which I can't really divulge, and it kind of works out and then of course she's kind of faced-punched every episode. It's all very well-edited and gets just about anyone caught up to speed after the lengthy gap between seasons. I did end up going back and renting the last disc of season 2 just as a quick refresher before finding the 4-minute condensed versions. Adalene is a huge part of my enjoyment of this show (MaryKay Place is invaluable in just about everything she appears in) but I'm insanely nervous she could be getting killed off, especially after that glance between her and Alby at the end of the episode. Margene is totally the star of the wives, though Nicki is such a close second, it's a dead heat for me. Between Marg listen to audiotapes of Shoshone language (and busting it out during the meeting) and Nicki's declaration from the rooftop, I love 'em both. I'd hate to lose Barb, though, because she makes for such an interesting dynamic between the other two. I think the show's biggest accomplishment is that with such a large cast I never really feel confused about who's who and how they're connected. All the family trees seem to be mapped out pretty well and I feel that's what has made this show less daunting to me than, say, 'The Wire'.
