I think the most saddest and depressing thing that I ever saw was when Jen (the House Mom) made a call out to his best friend and then to his wife. No one came
to help out. She had to resort to the police where they showed up after 4 in the morning. If you are a friend or spouse who has someone in their life that is
so screwed up, please don't bail out and give up. Their battle is yours and vice versa. Addiction is a monster that will follow you and keep on your ass
till the day you die. You need true friends to help guide you. Sadly, Most of these people don't have friends on their side. The friends give up and then
so does the addict. I really do hope their is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Do they get paid for this? Maybe he's just doing it for the money. He obviously has no interest in cleaning up his act. I agree with the previous posts,
that was extremely disturbing. He has had 2 strokes and was in a coma-and he STILL is not motivated to quit.

Well I would hesitate to preach to an addict's family what they should do. Even if you've stood by another addict, how do you know your situation is
totally similar? They have to look after themselves as well as him, otherwise risk codependency.
Oh, and I bet they are paid and he is doing this for drug money. His motivation really doesn't make sense otherwise. |

They do get a paycheck, I wonder how much it is?
From a news article In January, before the first season premiered, Pinsky told ABCNEWS.com that cameras and a weekly paycheck for the patients helped the process. "Cameras sort of hold people accountable -- they motivate them to keep them going," he said. "I was able to do more intensive work because
these people were getting paid by the week. They wanted to get paid and they wanted to be on TV."

Well that makes sense now (the getting paid part). Because why else would someone bring heroin to a sober house? I'm sure the money is Shifty's
motivation as well. I think the only ones who give a shit about trying to get better is Rodney King and the model.

I think the most saddest and depressing thing that I ever saw was when Jen (the House Mom) made a call out to his best friend and then to his wife. No one came to help out. What would they have done? He was already fucked out of his tree on heroin. You'd think a televised Sober House would be better equipped to deal with people being that high. They probably knew he was just doing it for the drug money or they were really disappointed in him. These people should be getting paid as little as possible. |

Seeing Adler int his episode reminded me of this guy I used to work with. I suspected he came into work fucked up from time to time, but I wasn't sure and there wasn't anything I personally could have done anyways. But then one day he came in and he was FUCKED. UP. Stumbling around, couldn't even speak, tossing lit cigarettes in the garbage can because he thought it was an ashtray, just a fucking mess. And a bunch of the dumv assholes I work with were sitting there laughing becuase he was "acitng funny". Yeah, hysterical. That was a pretty damn stressful day. |

What would I have done? What else can you do but try to be supportive. This reminds me of Celebrity Fit Club when the girl from Happy Days said she only did it
for the money. Clearly it wasn't money she needed, she really needed a psychiatrist. I used to think Jeff Conway needed help but now I see that Steven
needs more help. I'll cut this short. It's not just drug addictions. Do these people get mental help as well? I seriously don't think they do.

Is Mary Carey's bf the same guy that was on that Jo and Slade dating show? Sure looks like him.

I was pretty impressed that none of them drank at the club. That must have been hella hard.

It really looks like Rodney is the only one that is truly taking this thing seriously. I cannot believe Amber felt "betrayed" because Jen called the
police on Steven. Steven was completely fucked up and out of control. He was not only a danger to everyone else, he was a danger to himself.
These guys are just not ready to give up their partying lifestyle. None of them is ready for it. Shifty is going to be found dead of an OD at any given moment. Wish I would have put him on my Deathpool list. And Mary Carey is with a guy who is constantly tempting her to drink. When is Andy Dick supposed to arrive? |

If you are a friend or spouse who has someone in their life that is so screwed up, please don't bail out and give up. Their battle is yours and vice versa. That is the exact opposite of what is taught to friends/family of addicts by just about every single addiction therapist on teh face of the earth. My boyfriend of 10 years' battle with alcohol is NOT my battle. My being in his life each and every day has not helped him get better. Now he's in the hospital with a traumatic brain injury and a seizure disorder. Yeah. My presence in his life sure did help him! |

What a bunch of ungrateful shits. Amber and that moron Nikki have the nerve to complain she called the cops?!! I only wonder why she didn't do it sooner.
Wake the fuck up people-in real life when you act like an violent asshole and get high as a kite, you get the cops called on you. Idiots. Truly the only one
who has a chance is Rodney. The rest of them are hopeless.

I wonder about all the white racist assholes saying he deserved to get beaten by the cops- the guy is about as harmless as a kitten! He has no temper, he's so quiet. I also think he's fucking hot if not for the alcohol problem. Rodney FTW! |

I really think Seth would have benefitted from being in rehab for more than 3 days before going to sober living. I was actually surprised that he didn't
try to sneak anything in with them. And the outrage over calling the cops on Steven was ridiculous. Hell, that big ass guy was there (can't remember his
name), and he even said "Fuck this, he's getting to violent."

If I knew this show was going to be 40 minz of Jen's greasy fugo face, weird ass greased out puffy, gross ass lips and ill fitting clothes, comments and
personality I wouldn't have watched it. Thank God there are tiny doses of the actual celebrities in this show. But still not enough in my opinion.
Seriously, she still hasn't been sober long enough to take on hardcore addicts. I think it's stupid that Dr.Drew or whoever it was, picked her place
as the sober house.

But why should she have to sit around while he rants, curses, threatens, does heroin, etc. He was acting scary, for his safety and everyone else's she
needed to call the cops. How is there even a debate??

She should have driven him downtown (slowly, in the left lane) and dumped his ass in the gutter. It's where he's headed anyway. And merryz is full of shit, btw - Craptacular is right. Their battle is theirs. Life's too sort to spend it coddling a weak tard. |
