There is no reason for them to hype up another female winner, when there was one last season. If you noticed, last night Carla mentioned being the first female
winner. I still think it's Stefans, but I can hope.

It was an exciting tale of a creative young chef who overcame the intimidation of a mass of bullies, and, BASED ON HIS CULINARY ABILITIES, nearly pulled off the win. Had he won (as he should have), it would have been the best season. Hey, I assume that the fact that the folks they served at the party on last night's show were familiar with Carla's "Hooty -- Hoo" schtick indicates that these final episodes were filmed after at least many of the earlier episodes had already aired. If not, how would they know about "Hooty"?! Therefore, many (if not all) of the earlier episodes had been edited WITHOUT KNOWING WHO WINS. Therefore, all the speculation about foreshadowing in the edits may be true about who made the finals, but not who actually wins the prize. Right? |

I think we'll know within the first 15 minutes if Stefan wins or not. If he gets a redemption a la "Being in the bottom two taught me that I do need
to try" he'll win. If he remains cocky he won't.

No it is not the female chef winning, it is the female black chef winning.

Agree with what people are saying about Marcel being robbed. Still, I wouldn't recommend that Dire (or anyone new to the show) run out and watch that one
next. It was an uncomfortable season to watch imo. Season one is the best. I think this season may be my second fave, as long as Hosea doesn't win.

Based on the previews and Hobeast giving the finger while doing the childish nany-nany-nay to Stefan with that retardo face, he pretty much cemented it for me
that he won't win.
oh please let that be true and yes, marcel = totally robbed |

I think that, other than the childish bullying, the competition of Season 2 was really exciting. There were a lot of contenders, in addition to Marcel and
(blech) Ilan - Sam, Cliff, Elia to name three - and the food seemed to be the most interesting that year.
Season 1, I thought that Harold was pre-ordained (even though I liked Leanne way more). Season 3 was like watching paint dry, and Hung >>>>>>>>>>>> everybody else. I thought Season 4 was pretty good, but I'm not a fan of Lisa's food (despite her GORGEOUS appearance), so her tenure as a bottom-dwelling goddess was very tiresome to me. |

Ugh, why are you guys bringing up season 2? That season was awful, and probably one of the least talented crop of contestants.
I love how you had these supposed "high end dining chefs" (Emily, Carlos) get cut early (Emily for being a high end chef, oversalting a surf and turf) You also had a pastry chef (Marisa), who sucked at making....desert. lol at Betty making it to the final 7. She won for making....grilled cheese, and a cucumber drink? Ilan-most one note cook...far more than Radhika, Fabio, Lisa. I also find it amusing that the two dishes that I actually remember him doing, was the disgusting chocolate liver crap in the quickfire, and the soggy funnelcakes (Love how you try to blame the soggy funnelcakes on Elia, rolls eyes). Michael? um, yeah. Frank for all his bashing on Michael kind of sucked too. He couldn't make rice, made this wierd mushrooms on crack dish. Sam-kind of overrated. I noticed how several of dishes...he never really actually cooked them (in terms of heat). The fruit salad, dishes in the final 4 challenge. He also used scallops quite a bit as well. |

I cannot believe that they didn't eliminate Stefan. And why was the fact that he didn't make his own sausage brought up? People have been eliminated in
past seasons for that one simple fact. Not to mention that they seemed to universally agree that his food sucked for this challenge.
Glad to see Fabio go. As he said himself ... he's a good cook and a great host. Too bad it's Top Chef, not Top Host. |

I would've much rather seen Sam, Cliff or Ilia win - but Marcel was a passive aggressive little prick who went poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke
poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke poke at everybody....and then went crying "poow widdle me" when somebody finally poked
him back
It wasn't mob mentality - it was Chinese water torture and Cliff was the unfortunate victim who finally broke under it The biggest tragedy of season 2 was his ejection because of that snot |

Even if that is true, if the others were grown ups, they would have risen above it. They were so threatened by his COOKING, though, that they were almost as
obsessed as Hosea is about Stefan. Therefore, they couldn't just ignore him...

azcanadienne wrote:Actually, my impression was that the reason Marcel got under their skin, was that he was SO YOUNG and SO TALENTED and SO KNOWLEDGABLE about molecular gastronomy, in addition to his classic French training (full-out jealousy) and the fact that he acted like everything was easy and not a big deal, while the rest of them were stressing out badly. It bothered them that he just breezed through the challenges with his somewhat surfer-dude way of speaking. Once a couple of them started hating on him, little by little the rest joined in on the unwarranted hate (mob mentality). Marcel wasn't bad mouthing them and giving them a hard time and, considering the hell the so-called MATURE (older) chefs put Marcel through, Marcel did a great job keeping his cool, which obviously incensed the mob more that they weren't getting to Marcel. Marcel was robbed. At least his best bud Hung came in right after them and owned in his season. Marcel & Hung <3<3<3
