Lost seems like a TV show that should have ended after 2 seasons, while BSG seems like it should have lasted for another 5 years. Go figure.

BSG's acting is approximately infinitely better than anything on Heroes. Barring Michael Dorn, who is clearly badass.
Lost has some good actors. And some awful ones. Evangeline Lily is terrible. Michael Emerson is awesome. Matthew Fox is meh. Jeremey Davies is fabulous. etc etc. BSG doesn't have as many STAND OUT great actors, I would say, but they are ALL capable and believable, and no one sinks the cast entirely, while Lost has way too many acting disasters running around in tank tops. I WOULD argue that James Callis and Michael Hogan are the two acting standouts every episode they are featured in - a la Emerson and Davies. |

Heroes has good actors, the horrible writing just doesn't give them much to work with. The acting on Lost is actually pretty underrated.

All Heroes has going for it is season one. Now it is just junk. Milo progressively got more embarrassing as the lead actor, HRG's obsession with his daughter became creepy, Hiro sucks as a hero, they never found a decent villain, and of course the lack of logical character motivation. I gave up on Heroes at the end of the Villains arch. From what I've read, doesn't sound like I'm missing much with the new eps. I think McDonnell is overrated on BSG, but turning her into a weepy woman who can't live without her man wasn't the best direction
to go in, so maybe its just the scripting. Not sure, but I am just waiting for her to finally die. Also, I thoroughly hate Jamie Bamber and the Lee Adama
character ever since that stupid trial, his 'testimony', then to top it off he becomes acting president... |

I just figured out the main thing that makes LOST beat out BSG for me... FUN.
There is a great sense of fun in LOST. You can have the tensest moment, and there will always be something surprisingly funny or light that will make you shockingly smile or even guffaw. BSG lacks fun. There is never any fun to be had. It needs a fun transfusion, STAT! |
