The way she made that up and emptied her bag was pretty smart. Amanda may not have been able to beat Cirie or Parvati, 1 on 1, but in a final 3, there's a good chance that Amanda could win by a 3-2-2 vote, because she'd have Ozzy, James and Erik, while Alexis/Eliza vote for Cirie and Natalie/Jason vote for Parvati. But this has been said before and has been debated heavily. Just like madhack said about Alexis... had Amanda been the winner, she would have gotten a more prominent and dominant edit, especially since she was one of the most popular contestants by the end of the season =)

Amanda lost the game, the way I see it, because she refused to make bold moves in order to spare feelings. First with Todd and then with Ozzy. Then, when she did make a good move, she couldn't own up to it as a good move (like with James and Cirie.) I like her but I think she's a just "meh" as a player.

She did a great job covering up, and the fact is, she fooled the fans and got her alliance the majority. However, that scenario of Amanda winning 3-2-2 in a F3 would NEVER have happened. As much as I <3 Amanda, her endgame in both seasons was horrible. She could definitely have won China if she didn't fuck up her jury performance so much, but for Micronesia, she would need a miracle. I'll put a couple new ones up soon.

I agree that caused her to get fewer votes than Courtney but she would have still lost to Todd. Todd's jury performance was superlative (one of the best ever). His answers to the juror's questions were exactly what we heard him say in his confessionals. Todd had an organized game plan and articulately elaborated what he did in front of the jury. In fact Parvati wasn't bad either although she wasn't as good as Todd was. Amanda's problem is that she doesn't have an apparent overall game plan. In both seasons it appeared that she would plod (or maybe be dragged) along and make it far enough that she could win the last few immunities and reach the finals. When someone lacks an overall organized game plan, it is difficult to give a good jury performance because that person lacks a foundation to explain and to defend. In China, lacking a game plan was one of the reasons that Amanda had to resort to apologizing to the jurors.

Relatively strong female that's moderate attractive and has a personality that doesn't inspire fear or hatred. Nine times out of ten, Amanda would make the final 4, and the tenth time is her making the final 6. She's just one of those rare individuals that would get far regardless of circumstances.

She had a good game plan both seasons, IMO, she put it into action, but she just couldn't wrap it up. In China, Jaime said she wasn't going to vote for Todd originally and Peih Gee said her jury question was supposed to help Amanda. If Amanda gets those two votes then she's a million dollars richer. But anyways, here are the next two... 20. Tom forms a "friendship" with Caryn. Quote: "What was I to you in the game, Tom? Was I just a pawn? Did we have a legitimate, real, genuine friendship?" -Caryn Grodel "I never lied to you and said, 'Caryn, you're in.' I told you 'We're the parents of this dysfunctional family, you know. We should look at for each others' backs.'" -Tom Westman This was quite possibly one of the weirdest relationships ever on Survivor. Tom basically goes up to Caryn during the phase of the game in which the Korors are trying to get rid of Stephenie, and he makes a deal with her that they'll look out for each other. Caryn, though, misinterpreted this as an alliance, or so it seemed. When the girls were trying to blindside Tom at the F7, it would have worked had Caryn not blabbed about it, causing chaos in the tribe. This odd relationship saved Tom's ass here and in the next few days, as well. Tom used Caryn to blindside Gregg, as well. When she finally became out of his control, he led the entire tribe to blindside her, though he was largely assisted by Ian there. The point is, this relationship saved Tom and caused both Stephenie's and Gregg's respective downfall. Reasons not higher: He did completely lose control after Caryn eventually, and had he faced anyone other than Katie in the FTC, he likely loses her jury vote. 19. Rafe befriends Stephenie and makes her his goat by having her fall for their blindsides. "Jamie, Judd, and Cindy. That's another vote I'd lose." -Stephenie Lagrossa OMFG!!!1111!!!! STEPHGODDESS WHO SURVIVED ALL ON HER OWN IN PALAU!1!!! SHE'S SO COOL!!!11!! is starstcuk . Yeah, that's kind of what everyone thought of Stephenie as soon as she appeared in Guatemala, the key word being...thought. Coming off of Palau, Stephenie was now one of Survivor's most popular contestants, rivaling Rupert. Everyone was so starstruck and thought the best things of her. She would never do anything bad, right? Well, Rafe made sure that she would not only do some bad things, but also lose in nearly any jury vote unanimously, or close to it. Rafe allied with Steph right away, and as the season progressed, he saw that she would take the fall for each blindside the two performed together. He used Danni to oust Judd, and while he initiated anything, it was all Steph's fault in Judd's eyes. She was a scumbag, and it was all Rafe's doing. Had he not severly fucked up in the F4, or had he or Steph won the F3IC, he would have won Guatemala, easily and probably be recognized as a very skilled winner. Reasons not higher: Considering who the F4 was composed of, it's pretty bad he couldn't get himself in the F2 with Steph.

Posts: 4873 (02/23/09 10:03 PM) Registered User Reply Quote More Recent Posts	Wouldn't you consider Rafe's genius plan of making Stephenie ultra goat, and his immense downfall by voting out Lydia at F4 and his whole "you don't have to honor your promise to me Danni" seperate and distinct things, though? If you're judging his game overall, then I definately agree that you penalize him for his actions at F4 and F3. I don't really see how his grand plan to make Stephenie ultra goat should be penalized due to things that at least in my mind, weren't really related. :P Rafe blew his chance to be arguably the best winner in the game's history those last few days, but what he pulled off with Stephenie before that would be top 10 at least in my eyes, probably higher.

Other than that, I can't really think of anything of why it shouldn't be higher other than the fact that no other Survivor (in any other season, except arguably Micronesia) had the same opportunity and that I just liked other things better. Getting down to this level of strategy, it's really hard to criticize moves and point out flaws other than "Move X was more impressive than Move Y." But still, Rafe needed to make the F2 for his strategy to work, and he didn't.

Still, though, it was impossible without the role Kenny/Crystal played; they planted the seeds of Ace's blindside and put the plan into action via Sugar. Reasons not higher: Sugar wanted to blindside him at some point because she was playing for America's sweetheart, not for the win. This move was ALL Ken. He was backed into a corned because of Matty being a dumbshit, but he outplayed Ace. Not Crystal. Not Sugar. This should be much higher. Natalie flossing with Jason's jugular ownage. Amanda blindsiding James was also great to see although she almost screwed it up by filling in PG. Todd's idiotic vote for James almost sent him home. Good thing for them that Erik and James were both bigger morons. Rafe playing Steph should be much higher as well. There is a reason he's one of the best gamers of all time. That's exactly how I feel. I completely understand why Danni won, but no way she deserved to win in a 6-1 vote. Steph was just playing the game hard and had her eyes on the million the whole time.
