This whole poisoning thing is reminding me of something from another show where the mother was slowly poisoning her daughter to keep her sick and the daughter
eventually died and that the mother was then doing the same thing to the son. Someone knew of this via an "ability" or something and found a way to
show proof of the poisoning to the father, this saving the son from the same fate. Anyone remember this and where it is from? It is bugging me.

Who doesn't love a story that revolves around Munchausen by proxy?

Re the show with the mother slowly poisoning, it reminds me of the Sixth Sense.

So - what's really wrong with Joe?

Agreeance that it's the Sixth Sense you're thinking about up there.
I loathe Scanlon when he gets all sensey. Wasn't it just last season he was mopey about the girlfriend rejecting his wedding ring? And now he's got her and can't get enough guts to simply go to a party with her? The writers muff him anytime they get him out of detective mode. The youngest daughter is quickly becoming the most adorable little tyke on TV. Loved Bridgette rattling her cage, too. Ariel ain't a little tyke anymore, btw. I don't anything's truly wrong with Joe. I'm actually kind of glad they addressed the repurcussions of getting zapped awake all night by Ali's dreams. Still, nodding off head back mid-converstation could point to something more, but I bet that's the last we hear of it. So do you think the daughter was really Munchausen by proxy or simply trying to eliminate everyone else in the son in law's life so she could have him to herself. Also, didn't they say she met the son in law after first wife ran off? Then we see that she'd been tending to the sick daughter well before that and murdered the first wife? Nuclear apocalypse time next week. This should be fun. |

If only Blythe Danner would off her own daughter in such a way...
The crazy ass wife/step mom reminded me of the dumped girlfriend in Simply Irresistible. That awful Sarah Michelle Gellar movie. I must find out if it's her. It's bugging me. |

The Juno opening was classic.
The normal jerking awake with a slight gasp, followed by a smirk... Nice. |

No Medium <3??? Last night's wasn't the greatest episode, but it had its moments. Ariel's running storyline of coming to terms with her "gift" is really helping the show, imo. That brief convo she and Alison had at the end was inspired. |

right-it was not 'great'-but ok....
getting too easy to solve some of the dreams-and i'm not even the one having them ...... but dissolving the other fam members was gruesome....i don't see how anyone/thing near that odor wouldn't have smelled it sooner IMO |

During the conversation Allison had with her kid.. about how their ability gets clouded when it is dealing with people they are close to, I couldn't help
but chuckle about poor Joe, since in an earlier episode they were going on about how Ariel could hear all of her Joe's thoughts before he said them.

I didn't take that conversation as "people you are close to' but, rather as people or situations where your feelings aren't like a still pond
- wind causes ripples and it is no longer clear. I thought she was teaching Ariel that their gift doesn't shield them from bad judgement. She didn't
need psychic powers to be at least a little bit skeptical of the attention he was showing her.

I just watched it -- too much going on TV-wise on Mondays these days.
I thought that ep blew chunks, the first in a long time I remember it being that bad. From the second the survival guy lit up about insurance and whatnot I knew it was him, and the spilled paint can was so far beneath this show it's despicable. Plus, since when do Manny and Scanlon go sending in police raids based SOLELY on Ali's dreams? They'll always sniff around based on her insight, but ordering full scale raids? Chaos would've ensued long ago on the times she misread her dreams. And yeah, I thought Ali was explaining to Ariel that the psychic thing doesn't work with those they're closest to, so they'd have a level playing field with those they're closest to. This would mean Joe when teaching her how to drive. It would be funny if Ariel hit the cheating boy with "it doesn't work with people we like, but (pause pause pause) I don't like you now" and watched him poop his pants. Bridgette stole the show with the testing of the emergency rations. Whatever else goes wrong on Medium, we always have Bridgette. |

Oh .. the paint. that was pretty bad. I especially loved how there were perfect feet prints for both feet even though the paint spill was only hit by one foot.
And how lazy can they be? They knock over a paint can and just leave it?

I am actually more curious about why Joe is falling asleep at random times (like when he was sitting at the table).
I hope that story line isn't a red herring or dead end. |
