Hey! | ||
|
Hey there guys! I am a new fan of Solitary, so I'm not at all versed in the previous 2 "versions".
I started watching it late one night, and got hooked. I was able to set up my DVR to record it, got caught up and everything in sequence in my head... That said... 1) Going in to it, I absolutely LOVED #4 and said "he's gonna win it all". Not because of his extreme fanatical fandom... but rather because of his attitude and slightly crazy mannerisms... but really because I think he has the physical attributes as well as mental attributes to do it all. 2) I immediately recognized that #7 would be his greatest competition... #3, to be honest, has shocked me. I seriously thought #2 would go far... probably to the top 3... 3) I have some "out of curiosity" questions that I hope can be answered without fear of spoilers. - Is the set really set up the way they show on the show, with the pods all arranged in a circle, and the outer doors facing the center? Did you even get to SEE that area, or were you blindfolded the whole time? - In the video clips on foxreality.com, I can hardly hear Val. Was she seriously that soft in your pods? On TV she sounds so much louder, but in those videos it's like she's whispering at you. - It seems rather interesting to me that Val would be there all the time, day and night, to confuse you about what time of day is... Is it always the same person doing the voice? If it is, do you think there were discernible gaps in communication from her when the lady doing the voice had gone home to take a nap or something? Did you ever notice a difference in the voice, perhaps indicating that it was a different person at different times? - Are you even certain that all of the pods were even near each other, or in the same building? It's almost stupid to think they aren't... but the way the the show makes the "set" look, it's almost like the pods are jammed all up against each other in their own 10-sided room (with 1 side being an exit, and 9 sides being the pods)... - I know they dictated your sleep... did they dictate when you could use the restroom? - I'm having a really hard time getting the layout of each pod down. Is there any sort of top-down view of a pod schematic, showing where everything is? - How many cameras could you count in your pod? (And seriously, how many times did you count them?) - Did they have medical personnel on staff, and ready to go, just in case? If such people were ever needed, would you be disqualified? - How many hours at a time would you say Val just stayed silent, on average? I know early in this season, she did it on purpose for something like a full 24 hours I think (if I remember right)... kinda to break you guys in. I'm talking about just on average, between tests and treatments, what kind of down time did you have? - If you got so tired you just couldn't stay awake any longer, and you fell asleep, does Val wake you up, or somehow force you awake? ... if so, how? - Will they, at the end of the finale, reveal exactly how long everyone was in Solitary? Anyway... To be answered AFTER the winner is revealed... - If they don't state it on the show itself, will any of YOU be able to say how long you were there? - Who is Val? Do they ever SHOW the actual person behind Val? Did any of the contestants get to meet Val after they left Solitary?

I just received the official response regarding the Union Show:
"We are sorry to have to report that there will be no reunion show this year, at least at this time." |

RobRob wrote:I am doing my own little impromptu sleep deprivation thing here... I've been up all night because my wife has a medical procedure she needs to go to this morning, and I have to help her do a little at-home preparation for it... but I'm usually sleeping until noon. :) I finally started looking in to the show online out of boredom and in an attempt to keep me awake, and I found this thread (halfway through it)... I paged back to find where you were outed, to really confirm it was really you... then went forward from there. I sure as hell wasn't going to read in detail the whole... what... 96 pages now? I skimmed... so pardon me for asking questions that have already been asked. I find it extremely disappointing that they don't reveal the total length of time each contestant stayed in their pod... even after the winner is revealed... and that even after the end of the season, you're still not able to reveal it either. That really sucks... it's like, what's the point of the whole "experiment", if you don't share the results? I know, I know... it's for entertainment purposes, etc... but I just find it so NOT entertaining, knowing that I won't have the final mystery (to me anyway) revealed... I've been watching the show and trying to figure it out. #8 said she was off by 4 days and a few hours, and was shocked at how far off she was. The question is, was she too high, or two low, on her internal time clock estimate? It's difficult to say which. And with all of the splicing and editing of the show, of course the viewer can't really get an idea of how long it really has been. I'm going to give a rough estimate and say 2 weeks or so is the total... Anyway... I'm not going to say "I hope you win" Robrob... simply because the outcome has already been determined, just not yet revealed... so instead, I'll say "I hope you WON"... As of right now, it's looking like #4 and #7 are the final two... and to be honest, it's truly a toss-up. Oh, and the foxreality site messed up my mouse cursor with the virtual pod... and even that doesn't give me a good spacial-relations-type idea of it all... |

Eagleeye wrote:Hi EagleEye, I understand there is a lot of posts to read on here and really didn't mind answering the questions again. I love talking about the show. I would like to tell you that you are a very good rough estimator if that helps at all. Hahahaha We're you using the arrow buttons on the virtual pod? To help with the spacial relations, the pods are about 8 feet or so across from any two walls. You can print and cut out the below images and fold them into an octagon to make a physical model. :-)

Thanks for all the answers RobRob! I hate it when people say "go back and find your answers", as I don't really have time to go back and re-read
through all the old posts! So thanks!
As for the Final...I hope it is #4 and #7 in the final round. Not sure who I am pulling for...I like you both. |

RobRob wrote: Okay, so referring to the pictures above, using (picture number)-(wall number from left to right), I can see that 2-2 was the wall with Val (for reference), and that 1-4 was the meal slot wall I think... 2-1 was the doorway to the little anti-room that you waited in and such. Where did the bed come out from? What were the other walls? Which one was the main entrance in to the room? Also, the virtual pods have the picture and description of the people in them... what was really on those walls? |

caught up on all the episodes and i love this season as much as i love the original. <33
9 getting pwned and leaving right after 5 will be brought up in the finale i think. it's interesting how the past 3's have been the last remaining females in their seasons, all placing 3rd (nicky, taralee ) and the
past 7's have all also finished in the top 3 as well (steven, tyler).

Eagleeye wrote:The bed comes out of 1-2. The entrance into the room is 2-1. Nothing was on the walls with the pictures and descriptions, that is why they put them there. 2-3 is the chalkboard wall. And lastly 2-4 is the lower two way mirror cam. |

Robrob, Did you cut off your jeans while on the show, or do you always wear short jeans?
If you did cut them, how? |

Solitary always has the best challenges, better than the big 3 reality shows. the rope challenge was a great example of that.

Solitary always has the best challengesExcept Jenga and rock-paper-scissors. Those were two new lows. I saw two things on FoxReality that spoiled the outcome:

You bring a laundry list of questions here and then say "I don't have time to go back and read!" That's hilariously immature.

Tigernanama wrote: Yeah, but not as immature as being so petty as to calling someone out for it like you just did. You might want to stop and think about how hypocritical your statement is. I was sleep deprived, as I said... evidently YOU didn't take the time to read what I said or you would have cut me some slack. Either that or you're just an asshole by nature. Also, maybe you missed the whole "this thread is now 90+ pages long"... I spent over 4 hours just SKIMMING through it. This isn't enough of a time investment for you? I'd hate to see what you would consider satisfactory... |
