Just thinking out loud here....If the Dharma Losties see young Ben, they wouldn't have remembered him when they first saw him tied up in the hatch or
wherever because it hadn't happened yet. Now, if young Ben sees the Dharma Losties, he might remember them later on or, like someone else said, he might
not remember someone he saw so long ago.

I said that before and was shot down with what's happened happened. They'd remember his face and definitely his name later when they learn he's Ben Linus not Henry Gale. Or the other way around, I suggested that Ben had not met them yet but his present self (roaming somewhere around the island) would have a sudden memory of them from his past. That was shot down with the what's happened happened thing, too. *stomps feet* Why can't Ben have a sudden memory due to his past changing like Desmond did? Tired of hearing Desmond is special and that can't occur with anyone else. It does sound like Ben is being written around meeting the Dharma Losties though. eta - see. Shot down again. phantom - I'm not thinking Jin for the same reasons as the original poster. What's the point? He's already been presumed dead. Sun has been through mourning and thinking Ji Yeon would be raised without her father. He's not dead. Sun is back to find him. I think they'll finally hook up again later on and give us that much anticipated reunion. I can't see him getting killed "again" having much of an impact on the viewers after all that. Daniel - that would mess me up. |

Hostile - That's what I said and thought. Good to know I was thinking correctly.
Felicia - I think it makes more sense to look at it the way we are--it's the Losties present, etc. I'm not shootin' ya down. I agree with ya. ;o) |

The Losties are still traveling a straight line (mentally) so what's happening to them in 1974 (in their minds) happens AFTER 2004. I also think Ben can get new memories if something happens while he's a child but those memories would "pop in" to Ben's brain, 2007 so no continuity issues. Everything we are seeing is happening "at the same time" in everyone's brain...just not in linear time fashion. Crap. Nosebleed. |

He's not in a wonky timeline. If he had met them when he was a kid, then he has always known them. I agree that he should be able to suddenly remember them like Desmond remembering what Faraday told him, but that keeps getting thrown out with "Desmond is special. Ben isn't". |

FeliciaM7 wrote:Whoever is shooting that down is wrong. Charles Widmore had memories of Locke and he's no more special then Ben. Which is why young Ben said he didn't exactly work with the regulars. TPTB know what a fuck up of continuity it would be if he had. I think he might meet Juliet though, which is why he wants her on the island in 2001ish. |

Why not Juliet? She gets pregnant on the Island and dies.

If he closes his eye, how can he be dead?
As for Juliet, I was just going by what Kristen said... usually a big mistake. |

I can actually see Sawyer dying to protect Juliet. Likewise, I can see Daniel, who's off the deep end, try to redeem anything he's done to lead up to the survivors' situation by sacrificing his life. I wouldn't mind seeing Miles or Ben go, but I just don't think it's this way. |

I don't agree that Ben isn't loved by many fans... People love him or love to hate him.
