There are some idols who did get decent gigs just by making the show. One or two of them got soap opera gigs, Jasmine Trias has been doing well overseas, etc.

^^^ very true...
Justin has a pretty good gig on the TVGuide Channel. They don't have to sell a million albums to be considered successful IMO. Are they working in music or working at burger king? if it's music or entertainment in general then the show did what it should've done... regardless of how many albums they have sold. |

Yeah people may have different successes, but most of them wish that it was in the musical world. I am very surprised we never heard an album from Kimberly
Caldwell. I remember hearing a few demos of the stuff she recorded with Randy and it probably would've done well in the pop world.

I think some people, like Caldwell, just wanted to be famous... she'd use her singing if she had to but if she could do another way that would be okay with
her too.
Honestly, after the first few seasons I stopped believing that half the contestants actually WANTED a music career... most I felt were just famewhores looking for their 15 minutes. |

They aren't fanwarring like the Keltards do to try to prove that Kelly is better than Carrie and calling the other Idols bad names. Clay has a "Best Of" album coming out at the end of March. It won't get any promotion, those kind of albums usually don't, but he'll sell a few. Then he'll move on to recording his 6th album without any input from 19R or RCA. That is when we'll see what he can do on his own. |
