I posed the same theory earlier in the thread about Ben and Sun not going to 77 cos they are already there. The difference I see between Sawyer, Locke, et al skipping is that the donkey wheel was broken at the time which was causing the skipping. I don't think the island was really "in charge" at that time, it was broken. When Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid were taken from 316 I see that as the island choo choo choosing them to go back to 77. In essence the island is thinking "Ok, I already have Ben and Sun in 77, I need Jack, Kate, Hurley and Sayid." So it isn't really an issue of two of the same person existing in the same time, it's an issue of the island just taking what it needs. In order to help prevent a paradox, Sun is being prevented from going to a specific point in time on the island where her younger self is, so she doesnt interact with herself when she was never supposed to. I don't think it is likely at all that this is the case, I just think it's an interesting theory. Just checking Lostpedia, it looks like in some of the ARGs and off season games it was revealed that Paik industries built a boat for The Hanso Group. He was also involved with Widmore. So what if Sun's dad did travel to the island at some time? Maybe it's not as far-fetched after all. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Paik_Heavy_Industries

Well it seems like the identity of the mystery figure is intentionally skewed. I also noticed while rewatching it that it is rather deliberate when the door cracks open as if someone is entering the room, it is RATHER DELIBERATE that a thin puff of smoke enters the room after seemingly cracking the door open. And make no mistake about it people...a scene like this is one that the producers knew would be coming under intense scrutiny merely due to the histrionic aspects of the set. That being said, this girl was not there on accident, and the appearance of the puff of smoke opening the door before hand was no accident either. They deliberatly made it seem like a puff of smoke opened the door and then materialized into a person. Rewatching it shows an almost identical angle where the person wasn't there and then in the next shot was there. |

Wow. You know, I heard the number transmission and thought, nice touch, and let it go. I never for a moment thought they weren't even supposed to be transmitting. As for the mystery woman, there's still the possibility that it's a crew member who was caught in the shot. If this is true, Darlton will say so. Otherwise it's Claire. |

And back in season 1, Hurley was listening to a big band radio station in 2004. Impossible! I mean, the past changed!

Either Claire or Olivia. Confirms to me that Claire & Christian are both, indeed, dead and that the smoke monster can take on the appearance of dead
people. No coincidence that the smoke monster showed up first when Sun and Frank got off of the boat . . .

The smoke monster showed up? I don't remember seeing that. I saw some bushes move, but that could have been any number of things.
To me, Mystery Woman looks way too big to be Claire, or Olivia. They're both pretty petite, and MW looks....less than petite. |

Is it possible that the plane didn't land in the present time? What if the plane landed after the Others took out Dharma but before 815 crashed? Just
because Ben had his folks clearing the runway doesn't mean it wasn't in better shape in the past. In fact you'd think there might have been a
runway during the time of the original Dharma construction activities.
Of course this brings about a problem as to why the plane wasn't around in the future when Jack, Kate, and Sawyer were on the small island. But presumably the plane could still be flown as it didn't completely fall apart. So will we see some set of people actually escape from the island in a later episode using that plane? Or could this be the plane that was the fake plant of the flight 815 crash that was found in deep water? Could you imagine a scenario where Ben put some dead bodies into the plane, changed the airplane logos, caused the island to move without taking the plane along, leaving the plane that faked the 815 crash to slowly sink into the deep briny depths where it was finally found? I'm thinking that if the windshield of the faked 815 crash was broken in the same way as the Ajira plane windshield that would tell us something.

I thought that too PoChop, but then I remembered that the French woman's message was playing for 17 years and the screen said 30 years earlier and then
showed 1977. So, the plane HAS to be in 2007 or so.
