The new thread title gives Adam way too much credit. The moderator obviously has screwed up memories from watching Bohemian Rhapsody in the 4th season. Adam is
not a Freddie Mercury wannabe. He is a Constantine Maroulis wannabe. The good part about this is that somewhere along the line, perhaps even on top 6 night, we
can watch him give am insanely over the top, self-indulgent rubbish performance that makes Ring OF Fire look good, and then get his very own, very
Constantine-ish, ***SHOCKER ELIMINATION***

In some misbegotten effort to channel Von Smith (or perhaps Celine Dion), Adam obviously decided that the best way to impress the judges and public was to go
as high as he possibly could tonight. The results were technically impressive (he did reach and hold the notes) but so what? It was SO high that it wasn't
at all pleasant to listen to. Anoop's voice didn't go as high but it had heart, style and nuance, all of which are concepts that Adam is obviously
unfamiliar with.
On the surface, this week's seemingly intimate performance was the exact opposite of last week's over the top trainwreck. But the more I think about it, The more I realize that they aren't as different as they appear to be. And I am reasonably sure that all this cold, show-offy singing WILL get Adam booted, probably sooner than most of his fans anticipate. |

I do think that Adam is a great singer w/ amazing range and I loved that Ring of Fire shit last week but this week?
Holy Shit.. it was just unpleasant to listen to. He has a very feminine sounding upper register that is screechy so when he sings a whole song in that one register it's painful. PAINFUL. |

Actually, I partially agree with Tatania. Adam did seem to have genuine respect for Smokey -- the first time we've seen him do more than pretend to listen
to ANYBODY. But do I still think the song was cold and show-offy? Oh yeah. And incidentally, I have no problem with somebody's fans posting in the
singer's hate thread, as long as they've got something more to say than "X was totally wonderful and they're gonna win, sell 10 million CDs,
save the world and then you'll be sorry," or some such shit. Instead of telling them to get lost, we should listen to what they have to say and
encourage them to read what we are saying.

Yeah, I don't understand how ANYONE would want to listen to that extremely high falsetto thing. It's not soothing, it makes my ears bleed. With the
Ring of Fire shit last week, he made it very clear that he is meant for Broadway. He's just not marketable. WTF kind of music will he produce? He's not
going to be a succesful recording artist, he's meant to perform. He needs to GTFO the show and go onto Broadway so he can fade into oblivion.
