She's had no pop promo for 2 years, and that is the biggest seller of all, yet she's the oldest album by far in the top 20, and she's set to pass Kelly's album next week. How does SHE do it??? How does she do it? Lots of promo. Winning entertainer was a big boost for her. Not as big as it should have been but big never the less. She also performed on the show. Next week she has nothing and she'll plummet down the chart again while Kelly hangs around in the top 50 for a few more weeks at the least. Kelly didn't get a big impact because she sang part of one of the songs on her new cd and two old songs from a different cd. Carrie sang a song from her current cd. She should see a huge boost next week. We'll see though, maybe she didn't impress the viewers that much? Oprah viewers tend to like over the top mushy ballads like dream and because of you so expect to see Carrie with another week about the same as this week. No way will she drop in percent unless the viewers already heard the cd sucks. Did dream jump back onto the top 100 downloads on itunes in the first couple days after Oprah? That should be a good indicator of how she did and the impact she made. If an idol even sings a song well on idol the original of that song usually makes a mad jump. I see others do it all the time with the likes of avril and jason mraz so I didn't think it was against the rules to bring up other similar artists? at your cutoff of top 20. She's hitting sales from two or three markets, tweens and normal old country fans the biggest Carrie is hitting mostly on just the latter. She does not have the pop audience added because carrie does not remix her stuff. Again tell me how many songs Taylor can cover of Carries and tell me what song carrie can't do of Taylors ? I mean hitting the notes and I mean LIVE Taylor can't do her playlist because animals would jump in front of cars when she tried ot hit one of the high notes in JAD or ....well, or any of Carries songs. they are just two differnent singers and that's fine. We don't need 'more' of the same. The only thing they share is hair color from what I can see.

Carrie could probably sing Taylor's songs pretty but they would lose so much with her singing them because there would be no connection. A song like white horse would become meh sung by Carrie. She'd oversing it to death. Taylor on the other hand would surely leave out the high notes in dream because they really aren't necessary to get across the meaning of the song. They are gratuitous. Carrie does them because she can and not because they add anything to any song she ever sings. Just a dream sung straight and with feeling would actually add something to the song imo. Carrie needs to learn to connect more to the songs she sings. Sometimes simple is the best way to go. She doesn't need to always go over the top just because she can. I guess what I am saying is I disagree with you dic Sometimes perfect vocals isn't needed to interpret a great song and make it musical heaven.

I like the stuff Carrie does in JAD. If TS did that song and left out that stuff, I'd be bored and wouldn't like it as much I'm sure. I don't get the TS love. She's not a great singer. I'd prefer she be a song writer and let someone (like Carrie) sing her songs instead.

She does a great performance though but has added a lot of stage effects. I mean david copperfield the last time, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee....... Taylor is the tweens sweetheart right now w/ Miley. The problem is that in time will pass as the new tween star comes along. quick, the thing with Carrie is she's become known for the big voice. It's expected I guess. her "Amazing grace" for the Opry CD still gives me goose bumps when I hear it. It seperates her from a lot of the rest and lets her sing some songs that are not that country. The songs she's covered for charity events are jsut a few. edit and kelly is known too for her big voice...ya know. AI/Eye color/Height/(or lack of, lol ) and big vocals are what K and C do have in common IF you wanted to compare them even a little. Kellys big songs start low and go up to the big notes.
