That was a bitch ass move especially if it's just the clue box and not the elimination matt. Getting to the clue box just ahead of a team only gives you a ten second advantage versus getting to the elimination matt first when it means elimination. The fact that mommy had to defned her son being called a name is ridiculous. I'm sure she and Luke would have felt completely different if it were HER getting unintentionally/intentionally elbowed and THEN getting unintentionally/intentionally shoved into the clue box. Why is there even a question?

Apparently, from the timing of the tiff, Jen is willing to let the entire thing go for what it is - Luke acting inappropriately in the heat of the Race - but Margie pushes the issue. "How dare someone call my sweet child a name! Why, that's intolerable! What kind of an evil person could they possibly be! Phil! You just have to do something about this!" I doubt Luke knows what was said until Margie tells him. Then, since she's offended, so is he. This is probably more about Luke's social ineptitude and Margie's overprotectiveness than anything else.
