Blaine Wise And at last ThaiSu can see my silly reasons for ranking Blaine above Greg. But here they are. There are other shows I watch for drama and entertaining characters, Kid Nation is SUPPOSED to be inspirational and is edited thusly. I may want the best characters to stay around in Big Brother or... I Love Money, but in Kid Nation the people I like are the ones I legitimately like the most. So Blaine being less entertaining than Greg doesn't change the fact that I liked him more than Greg. Why did I like him more than Greg? Because I remember the... 2 episode stretch where he was on his own, without Greg. When Blaine was moved out of the Blue team to the yellow team and he proved that he was a legitimately good kid, who just suffered under the bad influence of Greg. When they reunited under the older boys council Blaine deteriorated once again, but that little flash of goodness was enough for me, and I've liked Blaine since. |

I sure agree that Blaine was a much more likeable character than Greg. I do wish he hadn't let himself become SUCH a follower, and had actually stood up
to Greg a time or two earlier on. I was impressed at how Blaine just calmly got up and moved over to the Yellow team when the switch was announced, instead of
pitching the hissy fit that Greg did. (It's probably lucky for Greg that he's home-schooled. Can you imagine the teasing he would have to take at
school for his little temper tantrum over wanting to sleep in the Yellow bunkhouse so he could still be with Blaine?) It's one thing to have a close
friend, but having to sleep with your head on his shoulder is a little beyond the pale.
