What's interesting is BOTH teams gave up the scavenger hunt. If not then one of the teams would have realized the priest wasn't at the church.

Nobody's looking at the real clues here.
It's been staring at us in the face since the beginning. If this marriage ever actually comes to pass, Trish Wellington will be no more. Assuming she takes her husband's name (which she will, because nothing about this show is unconventional), she will thereby become TRISH DUNN
And who is the last person in the world that would want to see that happen? Exactly. RUPERT is the killer. That nasty bitch thought she could outmanoevre Rupert and take away his dreams. Well not this time. It'll be the biggest ROARveal since the All-Stars Reunion. CBS has been planning this for YEARS.

Although I would love it if rather than Henry it came out that the killer was Jimmy and he plans the murders out of some psycho jealousy about Henry and Abby's friendship. |

Episode 1: A discarded beer bottle sinks down into the water to reveal a tied-up Uncle Ben.
Episode 2: Wakefield's shrine is essentially several cheap candles and a crushed beer can. Beer cans/bottles could become a visual motif. (Something to watch for in future episodes.) If the editors keep this visual language going, it will move Malcolm "The Fat Dude" up my possible killers list. |

the buried alive person looks like it is Abby. She's shown scavenging through a bunch of tunnels trapped, and most likely finds a way out but alas, it's no good. the Booth speculation is fine -but no way it's him if he's not a side character working with other people. W'ere two episodes in, it has to be a major character for idiots to get. |

Harper's Island Trailer Analysis
Since no one else is doing this (grrr), I might as well. Here is an alaysis from the trailer shown after Episode 2 which can also be seen at the Harper's Island website. WARNING: This may contain minor spoilers. I'm basically going to slow the trailer down and pick it apart. - Malcolm "The Fat Dude", looking very frightened, pulls open the shower curtain. His reaction, apparently, is one of relief- probably no killer or dead body- just paranoia. - "There's another body, dad" Abby says. "Hanging in a tree. Sound familiar," JD says. Image of body falling by Abby and JD. - Abby sees JD's reflection on a window pane and, startled, turns around. (Damn, how many times will this bitch be startled leading to a turn-around? It's like every episode. lol) JD says, "Look, I need your help." - Trish says, "Ever wonder how one short walk can change everything?" JD is walking in the woods. A wire trap is sprung leading to some metal knives being swung into some dude's shins. The trailer makes it appear as if it is JD's shins but there is a day-to-night problem. Certainly a man was hit though- men's wear and man's scream. Booth "The Nerd" turns around with a flashlight. Perhaps the editors want to make us think he may have been hit by the trap too. - On the boat just off the island, Malcolm "The Fat Dude," looking despondent, shoots a gun down, perhaps into the boat. The sound startles Danny "The Black," Henry "The Groom" and Booth "The Nerd." - Danny lights candle in chapel, "think[s] we could use a prayer." Behind him: Abby, Chloe, 3rd Person either Beth or Shea, Fourth Person male with dark hair. -Sully "The Best Man" breaks down a locked door. Danny "The Black" is right behind him. - Madison "The Creepy Girl" tells Abby the spirits told her she wouldn't be a flower girl. - A young woman walks into a dark room. The door slams behind her. She turns her head quickly to reveal a pony tail. Extremely likely Madison. - A woman with dark hair, probably Abby, opens up a police bulletin/shrine showing images of those murdered. Camera focuses on Abby's mother, hanging from tree and lying on metallic autopsy bed. - Danny "The Black," crawling through the vent, half-yells "Oh my god," looking frightened at what's in front of him. Sully "The Best Man" appears to be in the vent right behind him, "What is it???" -Chloe drops a glass of white wine with turned head, screams. Cal is also in the room. Camera pans over to something but isn't shown. Perhaps a dead body sighting. - Sully is shooting a rifle in the forest, apparently at a white man with bloody knuckles. The hand looks more mature but this may be misleading. This scene may suggest that Sully shoots and kills who he thinks to be the murderer (of course, he's being misled). This scene may also suggest that Sully is, in fact, NOT the real killer. Also note, the rifle appears to be extremely old-timey, perhaps taken from the museum. It produces a shitload of smoke and sound. Did it produce a bullet? Through all the smoke, you can see the hand is on the ground. - The sheriff is pulling up a fisher's line through the soil, ultimately revealing a large fish-hook gored through both eye sockets of a dead body. The head is clearly a prosthesis. Difficult to pin down who the head belongs to. Dark hair. White. Probably male. Very distinct indentation on the nose however. - Danny "The Black" looks through a man-made hole after a brief Trish-Henry love scene. Are the editors making it look like he's spying on them. The scenes are unconnected. - Mr. Wellington and Abby are running through the forrest. Apparently a german sheppard is chasing them. It's possible that these two things were spliced together though. - An explosion at the end of the dock. Man with what appears to be a rifle is knocked back in surprise. Scene is shot behind the shoulders of a woman and a man (perhaps Abby and Henry). Close-ups reveal it was Sully "The Best Man" on the dock with Abby and Henry looking forward on the shore. - "How many hours 'til sunrise?" asks Danny inside the Inn. "Too many" says Mrs. Wellington. Shea and Trish are also in the room. The four all turn slightly to look at who is walking in or perhaps a sound. - JD "The Outsider" is hit with a good amount of force by Shane's red pick-up truck. His body is flung back onto the car's hood. No shot of the driver. Apparently no one in the passenger seat. - Chloe tells Cal, "I'm scared." Beth is behind Chloe. Cal says, "me too." All three are fully dressed but have wet hair. Were they knocked off a boat? The conversation is apparently made on the dock at night, perhaps after a botched escape. - "Whoever is doing this wants me," says Abby. "Well they can't have you," says Jimmy "The Old Flame." - JD, very frightened, is running away from something in the forest. Looks backwards. Dog sounds? Perhaps he's running from the loose dog or the cops. - A shot hits a block of wood right next to Cal and Chloe. Chloe screams. They both jump backwards, startled. - Camera is seen through the crosshairs of a gun. Abby is almost perfectly in the crosshairs. Also in the screen are Sully and Chloe. - Close-up on the sharp-shooter's gun. The hands are white, male, and mature-looking. Perhaps The Sheriff's or Mr. Wellington's. - Sully steals a kiss from Chloe. Sully jumps over the hood of a blue car with a rifle in his hand. Very dramatic. There's a fire raging right next to or inside The Cannery (Nikki's Bar). - Five people are in the Candlewick Inn: Chloe, Cal, Sully, Beth (or maybe Shea) and Danny. The lights go out in the house- the whole Inn in fact. - Abby and Jimmy are in the Sheriff's Office. Perhaps the power is off the entire island. Abby has a flashlight. Jimmy has a rifle. They're both startled by something and turn around quickly. Jimmy aims his gun. - A slender woman's hand is being held up and shakes for attention out of the ground at night. The silver minivan is apparently driving away. - In an LOL moment, a full-blown predator-log-on-straps-trap is sprung, striking Abby's bike- front tire- and knocking her down. A man on bike is behind her- white and dark hair. He's surprisingly hard to pin down because I'm pretty sure he's someone's stunt double. (Did Trish or Madison set-up this massive trap? lol) - Abby kisses Jimmy. - Sheriff walks into the chapel. Trish and Henry are in the chapel, look up. There's a blade-trap hooked up to the chapel's ceiling. It's made to appear it's falling on Trish and Henry, but it could also be falling on someone else. Trish is shown hugging the Sheriff with a cut on her upper cheekbone. Did she narrowly escape the trap? - The vents also appear to be booby-trapped. We see a grate fall behind a woman's boots. The woman looks back. Perhaps this woman is Abby. - A flashlight is shone in Henry "The Groom"s face. It appears he's been caught gravedigging or just looking into a pit- perhaps Lucy "Paris Hilton's" pit. A woman is behind him. - A pissed-off, crazy-looking Abby jams the butt of a rifle into a man with medium brown hair's face. The man might be Henry Dunn, Hunter, Booth, Malcolm, Shane or Sheriff. The hair looks most consistent with Abby's father, The Sheriff. - Abby, with a flashlight, is being pulled back in the vent. She's half-screaming. The person pulling her out may be trying to protect her from the booby-trapped vents. Beth, apparently, turns her body around, looking backwards with a flashlight while inside the vents. Does she die in the vents while Abby is pulled out to survive?

Wow, Urban, that rocks. Thanks for all of that.
All of these "traps". Sounds like a poor man's Saw. It also makes me wonder if someone had to spend significant time prior to the wedding setting up these traps. It all goes back to the nerd for me -- someone with knowledge of psychics perhaps. |

Coach, you mean physics?
and yea, my #1 has been Booth and I think the editors are purposely giving him an UTR edit. I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the next episode, they sneak in a few UTRN and UTRM for Booth. P.S. did anyone else notice that Booth is quite hunky even though he is "The Nerd"... |

Cal gets strung up by the trap, and gives this whole "I'm so weak and pathetic" soundbite and wiggles slightly in the trap. Um, yeah right. This
whole scene made Cal jump up my possible killers list.

So was Maggie the only suspect not in the trailer? Does that mean she's irrelevant or that she dies soon? She's my top suspect, so that's why I
ask.

depends. we didn't see Nikki also
maybe this means they both die soon, or maybe it means nothing. I also saw a preview, the fat guy and some chick (beth i think) and then the fat guy falls into some kind of pit, not as big as the one with lucy, but it's kind of deep, and the girl just laught at him..dunno about that

How could Booth possibly be the killer? He's a nobody. They wouldn't make the killer completely invisible. Though I like the theory that he is working
with someone like Henry and gets killed by him later on.

Hunter, Maggie, Nikki, and Richard are the only people who I couldn't confirm being on the trailer.
That doesn't bode well for them. |

No it probably doesn't. |

superkyle wrote: Maggie, Nikki and possibly Richard and Hunter are not shown in the trailer. That makes them all candidates to be killed in episode 3. From the reviews that I've read, CBS released the first 9 episodes to the critics for review. No one realizes that there is a killer till the fourth episode. In most if not all of the scenes in the trailer, there is a realization that people are being killed, so anyone who is shown in the trailer is likely to survive episode 3. |

I was thinking that too, but who knows, it could just be one of those things we're not really supposed to put that much thought into and just believe that someone randomly set them all up in one night or some such bullshit. |

I don't think the traps in the woods are that bad as they can be explained as being used by hunters, including the pit. Traps in the hotel are another
story, if there are any.
