Matt - the only person ever voted out twice. That's quite an honor, and he fully deserves it. Few people in life get such external validation: America
dislikes you, twice over.
I'm ticked the judges saved him when they did, because Anoop would have been around for RatPack week, and he would have killed. None of the five performed their songs with any feel for that era. Yeah, "Make it your own, make it modern" and all that, but damn, that era had singers who were cool and confident, were having a blast, sang incredibly well and (I think this is the key): they made it look so easy. These five acted for the most part like they were passing kidney stones. At least they screamed on key, for the most part. A lousy week, with lousy interpretation. I could see Anoop doing the Sinatra/Dino, but he wasn't around. I was hoping that Adam might - but no, just another screamfest. |

actually, he was voted out three times. he was a wild card pick and got the judges save a couple weeks ago. america really hates you matt, they really do. and i agree, anoop would've been great during rat pack week but perhaps so good that allison would've gone home. so it all worked out for the best. now we just need danny out and i don't care who wins after that, i like them all. |

Yeah, this is probably my ideal f4. Maybe swap out Anoop and Chris, but that's 50/50.
I was trying to think which of these final four are the most commercially viable, and I think it's possibly Chris, at least from the song-selling perspective. Adam is theatrical and a lot of his fun stuff is from weird takes on songs - put him on Broadway or on stage in Vegas, not in the top 40. Daniel is like Michael McDonald, but 30 years too late. Allison is fun, but how many Joan Jett-type songs are on the radio right now? Someone I know said she could be like KT Tunstall, but KT is far more pop than rock and more versatile. Chris could likely have a nice little career. Does anyone see any of these four admittedly talented singers get big? |
