Does anyone know if there has ever been disussions of a Celebrity Biggest Loser? Can you imagine Val Kilmer, Kirstie Alley, Jon Daly, Oprah, Rosie
O'Donnel, John Goodman, etc. getting screamed at by Jillian?

You'd have to be a bonehead to believe those spoilers anyway. They showed Mike in the previews. He looked like a completely normal-weight young man.

The problem is real celebrities wouldn't have time to spend 17 weeks on campus losing weight. They would have to go to appearances and eat from buffets and miss vote-offs or weigh-ins. It would all be z-listers so it would be no different from a normal season except the contestants would be even more entitled and bitchy. |

If the spoiler is true, (and not something that someone made up on wikipedia like swim pointed out, thereby making the spoiler sadly, and painfully false):

jaymmzzs1 wrote: Where did I say there were more kids dying from being fat than from drugs or being in gangs??? I didn't. What you are not understanding is that being MORBIDLY OBESE is a serious health risk. Not only are they often dealing with diabetes but they are also prone to having a heart attack, a stroke, renal failure, and on and on and on. Not only that but it cuts years off of your life, not to mention the self-esteem issues that come up in day to day life. For that reason I say that being MORBIDLY OBESE is not that different from being a drug addict or to being in gangs because all of those three are LIFE THREATENING issues. Being in a gang is probably the least risky because you can control what situations you put yourself in and because that behavior is the most easy to change and it can be changed from one day to the next. I don't give a shit if Ron decides to do that to himself, nor Tara (whom I love), nor Helen or her adult daughter, or any of the other ADULT contestants. To each his own and it's a free country and blah blah blah. But what I do have a problem with is people claiming that Ron is great father when he and his wife let TWO of their children balloon up to being morbidly obese sons of bitches. Those boys never had a chance with a sack of shit father like Ron as their example. They should never have let their children become that size, and if you think "So what? He lost the weight by the time he is 19." is any kind of vindication for what happened to him then there is no help for you. You do not understand the difference between being overweight and being morbidly obese. Educate yourself. You also do not understand the responsibility of parenting. You probably think it's "normal" to be fat. Just because a large number of Americans are fat does not mean that it is normal. |

Lol at Mike having a "little" weight problem. His weight problem was the size of another full grown man.

Minus the comment about comparing the weight problem to being in a gang (sorry, Carboy), I have to agree. Weight issues are considered a serious problem along
the lines of drug and alcohol abuse. The parent needs to be in control of the situation to prevent their child from spinning out of control, but Ron hardly
was in a position to do that when he was/is so obviously unable to deal with his own issues. He's passed them onto his kids at an alarming level and that
shows poor parenting skills. I don't know how well he did in other areas of parenting (he hasn't shown himself to be a great example on the show), but
Mike seems like a good kid. Just had a really shitty, fucked up father.

I really hope that spoiler is true!
For me, one of the reasons I despise Ron so much isn't his game play, it's his inability to own that he's playing the game. He tries to come across as this noble person who really cared about the people he sent home. Telling whoever it was they were leaving for whatever reason made sense that week. He wanted people to see him as a loving and selfless father when he's actually a swarmy douche who enabled both his sons to balloon up to gigantic boys. Even his apology to Mike about teaching him bad eating habits seemed to me incredibly insincere. Tara <3 Jillian <3 Bob not winning again <3333333333 |

I didn't like how they dragged the weight in that challenge. It's better when they do that challenge with the fat suits or backpacks. I wonder if
they just did that because Ronberg couldn't carry his backpack. I thought it was very SYMBOLIC that he needed his son to help him finish.
I like in Aussie version when they climb a mountain and keep putting the weight back in their packs as they go. Then they hit the top and take the backpack off with all their weight and realize how much lighter they are. |
