Come Together by The Beatles
Must be wonderful to have to sing solo so quickly after that shoutfest. Ryan reiterates the Simon comment that Danny "was a bit better in that performance", possibly for effect. Guitar riff is on point, and Kris' intro is solid. I doubted that he'd have the soul to pull off the unique styling of this vocal, and it's not quite on target, but it's close. Nice 'tude and great arrangement heading into the title line. Nice touch taking the volume deliberately down 3/4 of the way through, and breaking up the phrases in an interesting way. Kudos on pulling off credibly a very, very tough song to pull off credibly.
An 8.
Randy: For me, I really know that you're not really a rock guy. But you know what I appreciate? You picking something you can still be Kris Allen. I wasn't blown away by the vocals. But I loved how you made it funky. So all in all, I enjoyed it coming from a guy who's not really a rock guy.
Kara: Definitely you tried to bring the softer side of rock. But for me, you have to get under that bus, Kris. Not a great performance. We needed more than you delivered tonight, you loser. GTFO! (well, that's paraphrased what she said, okay?)
Poler: Your signature is all over it ... (huh?) ... but honestly it's what you do with a song and your imprint makes it truly compelling. You needed a little more energy but you are deserving.
Simon: Actually didn't like it that much. It was like eating ice for lunch. It leaves you with nothing.
Audience: BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Simon: Boring. Safe. I didn't believe anything would top Adam, and I was right.
