Maybe they keep Coach b/c he's no threat at all.

I'm baaaack!
Yup. Roach is a winded windbag allright. No challenge threat where Debbie & Erinn just might be in something like this. Debbie is seen looking VERY determined! |

I hope this is the Spider Challenge. Just so it won't be a obvious Taj and JT in Final 4.

it looks to me that the thing JT is cautiously going under (in the small PIP caps) is that first obstacle we see in the larger caps. They have to dig
underneath and pull themselves under and through. You can see his green striped bar in front of him.
I'm a little surprised that they have those red dividing lines between obstacles. Doesn't that usually denote different stages where some are eliminated? But all the balance beams seem to be there and they're still colour coded. (oh sorry, we don't have a yellow lane for you Debbie. shucks *eyeroll*) So if there is no elimination between obstacles, why would there be a line necessary to separate them? I agree that those are puzzle tables. there seems to be a trough in the front with items in it, and possible a pen halfway up on the right side. (chalk and bigass eraser?) Oh and just a useless tidbit of info, the cyan coloured steer is visible on JT's shirt now. spider challenge here we come! |

This event has a crawl, balance and puzzle portion. I'd expect Erinn to be a strong contender here. Woman in general are better at balance, she has a
small frame for crawling, and she was the Timber puzzle solver.

The red line in front of (to our left in the photo) the balance beams probably just marks the balancing section - you can't set your foot on the ground
inside that line. (You know how usually they try to run on the balance beam, like cartoon characters running off a cliff, and sorta of jump/fall off the end?)
Probst needs a marker so he can say yep you made it or no go back.
Something happens after the balance beam though. There's a higher fence marking the side boundary of the open sandy area. Either mindless digging, aka stupidest challenge segment ever, some kind of mindful digging like with compass clues, or just somehow transporting yourself to the other side to get the bag of puzzle pieces, secured by knots, locks, or quizzes. I'm hoping there's some mental piece other than the puzzle at the end. Would they say "brains and brawn" if it were just the same old do-something-physical to get the pieces, then solve the puzzle? Maybe something like that long immunity challenge in China, where they had to answer questions to get the keys. |

The two pictures of Taj digging appear that she is smiling in resignation that she will not be a threat to win this challenge. She doesn't seem to be putting a huge amount of effort into digging. She seems to be looking at someone or everyone having moved on past her and smiles back at Jeff. edited to add the pictures

Agreed, it looks kind of like a "Congrats, you won" type of smile to me, and not like she's still working. Or maybe it's a grimace because
she's not happy about digging, lol.

Maybe they keep Coach b/c he's no threat at all. This probably was already mentioned but Coach would have to be out of contention from elimination because we know this is NOT from this week and it appears it wasn't from last week. Regardless if he is showing frustration here or triumph in this pic, at least he can't be gone this week if this is from an upcoming challenge. |

What could that Coach photo be from? Some endurance challenge? Or could it just be a reaction at the end of some challenge? If it is endurance, they don't
usually have endurance until the last challenge, so does he make it that far? Although wasn't it in Exile Island where they had an endurance challenge for
the final 6?

Testing... Not sure what happened to our posts this week. I've closed the other topics temporarily in hopes those posts can be saved. It does appear the 37
or so posts in this thread have been lost. It does appear we can add posts now.

According to the latest JP preview, it seems JT&Steven work into the 2nd round, which requires the castaways to reach the target number by filling the
symbols in the expression. So the 2nd round is brain work. Perhaps Steven wins eventually?

Are there six puzzle stations? The 'hug' vidcap is what TDT is speculating shows evidence of a Stephen or JT immunity win, but it could be that
they're advancing to the final puzzle round of the challenge. Dunno.

i would agree with you ILT that it's just them congratulating themselves before moving on. Jeffy is shown walking past them in the preview and not even
looking at them. If one of them had just won, wouldn't he be in ceremony/congratulating mode? It's almost like they were the first 2 of 3 people to
make it to the next step and jeffy's walking past them to get a good view of the remaining survivors to see who will be the next one to qualify and
"move on" with JT and Stephen.
We know Taj is out as JT is shown (in a split screen with Stephen) stepping over the ropes with Taj loitering in the background. Odds are, the shot of Coach with his head bowed to the dirt gods is a moment of defeat. the problem i have is that there seems to be a chalkboard for all 6 people so at some point, all 6 must use them. That puts the shots of JT and Stephen using the chalkboard in question as to whether that is a "final battle" chalkboard station or from the chalkboard station at the starting line. |

Jeff also said 'it pays to read" Stephen is very likely the winner.

We can see the green table, and part of the white, which seem lined up with the green and white lanes. Should we be able to see part of the yellow table if
there really are six tables?
Here's a bunch of tables, curiously all with white legs.
Definitely two more empty tables in the background. Would they run a first round with six, then only eliminate two people for the next round? Seems like it's usually in threes...
